No.  Though the mid 20s it was initially returning was bad enough, seems to be doing better now the carb has been fettled and returned 35mpg from the last tank which is more in the expected ballpark.

Worst tank I think I've had from the Jag so far was 9.6mpg.  I'd really like to see the average creeping into the mid teens really, currently sitting at 12.7.  I know the A bank inlet manifold gasket is compromised in at least one location so that won't be helping anything.

You're doing marginally better than Brother Fumbler's old P38 which had 4 less cylinders! Best we got was 18 on the trip to buy the Land Cruiser. 18 is, apparently, the best you can ever get with that engine.

Your lads doing great there, I've been driving for nearly 24 years and usually avoid parallel parking am I'm so dreadful at it. I guess I'm out of practice as I'm rarely anywhere that I have to do it. When I had a flat with on street parking I was decent at it but that was nearly 20 years ago!

Nice clutch control there too, I can't even hear the engine.

I seem to be able to manage it *most* of the time in the Jag, no bother in the van...Xantia (or when I still had it, 107), nope!  To be honest it's something which beyond the test I think I can count on one hand how often it's a skill I've needed each year.

That belt was ordered a good 24 hours later than the oil pressure switch next to it, the belt came from the US, the oil pressure switch within the UK.  Both arrived this morning.

Costco trips are so much less hassle with an appropriate vehicle.

First time I've been since the start of the year and we were basically out of everything.  £280 worth of stuff in that photo!  Some chilled things are hiding in the fridge too.

I just got in from work and put the kettle on when my phone beeped "you got any jump leads ?" from my brother. he hasn't used his car for over a month but chose today when it's pissing it down to try to start it up. of course it was parked nose in on the drive with the brakes seized on so pushing it off the drive wasn't happening, we checked that his neighbours weren't in and drove my car sideways over their patio, gave it a tickle of juice and got it fired up quick style   sent him on a long drive to get those volts restored, and went back to my cuppa

They fit, just!

Pretty sure the maximum size of a standard oven in the UK is what determined the size they chose.

They're pretty decent too as with most of their own label stuff.

Neff I think.  Either way it came with the house and is a piece of garbage which will be getting replaced at the first available opportunity.  Takes forever to warm up and is the most difficult to keep clean oven I have ever encountered.

A few months ago me dad got the steering wheel on the Transit wrapped in leather. I wasn't too keen on the idea at first, but I ended up liking the end result. In fact, it made me consider wrapping the steering wheel on my Fiat.

The wheel in my 126 is pretty alright, but definitely not in perfect shape.

There are a couple of small chunks that have worn off around the left spoke:

And the plastic has come unglued from the metal core on top of the wheel, which means you can twist it a little.

Now, I have a new old stock steering wheel I was meaning to install, but now I'm thinking I'll just have the original one wrapped and keep the new old stock one as a spare, in case I want the car back to fully original condition.

I've been thinking of doing the wrapping in the style of original Cinquecento Sporting steering wheels, with somewhat shiny leather stretching all the way over the spokes, like this:

(Obviously, I could just buy a CC Sporting wheel, but those are a bit rubbish in terms of quality and difficult to find in good nick.)
