The good news is I have a contract.

No more jobless Junkman.

The bad news is it's in Welwyn Garden City and it's only for the X-mess period.

So I'm off to WGC on Monday. With my R16.

And both people involved are still trading under different names.

Ah, they attempted to rip me off once. They only partially succeeded, but luckily at the time I was a student and had friends in law so with persistence managed to end up with approximately what I paid for.

I saw another one driving the other way later that day, the giffer driver gave me a smile and a wave.  :-D

Breadvan's fab-yellow Dolly Sprint's for sale. Rover 2600 sold. Onwards and upwards BV, good luck :-)

Got any links to the sprint?

Edit: Capree deleted his original post. Quick bit of googling and it looks like BV car is here: http://www.classicandsportscar.com/classifieds/classic-cars/triumph/dolomite/triumph-dolomite-sprint-1975/8068016

No doubt in excellent condition and was well looked after. I'd love it but a bit too far above my budget at the moment with trying to move house and all that. :(

I hope BV is alright and things haven't gone too messy for him.

Had a good look at a 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GT-S 2.5t yesterday. Completely bog standard interior apart from a different radio. Exterior as standard with no body kit but decent aftermarket wheels that have been refurbished. Has had outer sills fitted a couple of years ago - not a brilliant job done, but done all the same. Body work very good with no sign of rust, just a tiny dent and a bumper scuff that can only be seen at cetain angles.

Drives great - loads of power at higher revs and turbo spinning and nice wafting along too. Clutch, brakes and suspension perfect. At tickover engine is very, very quiet even with the bonnet open.

Got it up on a ramp and had a good look around underneath. Underside all dry, no leaks from engine or rear diff, and no rot or patched areas evident (apart from the outer sills), but exhaust back box will need patching up/replacing. Still has original system with cat fitted.

Really tempted but no idea of its value. 110,000 kms,  imported to UK in 2007, not been buggered about with. Anyone any idea?

Because of that I guess probably a fair bit. If not, then will be soon.

I met up with BV the other day - he’s on much better form, thanks. His Lotus Eclat is now running well and he’s consolidating the fleet to simplify life and raise a bit of cash. Dangerously sensible idea, that.

The Dolly is now thoroughly sorted (Mark the mobile mech is the real deal) and is a good ‘un.

Yep, sorry, deleted in error earlier this morning whilst editing-in a link and pic using my phone, then I got sidetracked. The Dolly looked a good one and lots about it on here. Have never driven a Sprint but imagine they'd be great fun. Good to hear BV is doing fine, things were becoming rather eventful. Lotus Eclat sounds interesting.

Nissan have allegedly announced they are to start remanufacturing parts for these

If the parts are out there then more get restored and prices will rise

4k sounds a good deal

Aye, 4k sounds like an alright price. You’d probably end up paying the same for a similar clean UK model 200SX.

No no no. I must not do it! Even if it is cheaper than a Golf/Civic/other generic moderns on finance. It is crazy that you can get something right now and the only real cost is £210 odd extra spread over 2 years.

Really glad to hear he's better. I don't know him personally or any real idea what he was going through. I did see him mentioning he was splitting up with his other half and the change in behaviour was notable - compared to what he used to be like to around when he got banned, I did worry that something serious was up. Became very out of character.

I know he's not a favourite with the mods on here, but I'd really like him back here. He helped an awful lot of people with things for free, that normally would cost a lot. His heart seems to be very much in the right place. Also brought an interesting collection of cars and their stories to the place as well.

Bring back the Breadvan I say.

Aye, free the BV72.

My bit of news was I took the girlfriends daughters 54 reg Ford Ka into a garage for an MOT yesterday and it didn’t fail on rust.

It only failed on a tyre so that must be a first for a 13 year old Ka

On a local FB selling group, could collect and post for a shiter, although I don't think they are particularly rare....

Ending in less than an hour, currently cheap (800 quid), has MOT and I really want. Bit too far for me to be arsed going for it though. So I'll leave it here for someone here to do some last minute crazy bidding.

Went for £800, which I think is really cheap. It was incredibly hard not to bid while watching it end. Mrs SiC even said she didn't really want me bidding on it, but if I bought her a new ring she wouldn't mind so much...

I really don't need another driveway ornament though. Especially as it'd probably be one for my in-laws...

That's unfair and untrue. All the mods are good people who act on complaints from others, not personal agendas or whatever. I'm not dredging up what may or may not have happened 'cos I couldn't give a shit but please don't fling around comments that have no basis in fact.

I think there was a comment from one of the mods at the time that his use of persistent threats of legal action against the moderators should threads / posts not be removed or altered/ edited to his satisfaction caused a large amount of upset and concern

I was watching this too over the last day. If I hadn't bought PBK's 1300, I would have been making arrangements for going down to London this very moment.

However, and I know this may be controversial, I prefer Valencia Blue to dog shit Brown.

If that doesn't get me a warning point, I don't know what will.

But it's true.

As others have said, there were reasons why which I'm not arguing with. But once you've acted like that you lose the right to the 'decent bloke being a twat for once' leniency that all the normal posters can rely on if they overstep the bounds.

That's not to say the mods did anything wrong or below the standard they normally work too. I wasn't privy to it all so I can't judge. All I can say is like SiC I liked BV's posts & his fleet was very entertaining.

I just wrote a reply and deleted it. I don't want to bring up old crap that needs to be left behind. I know you said you don't want to dredge up old shit, but with a comment like that it leads to that happening if I am to respond to your point directly. Also how I formed that opinion I stated.

Anyway I didn't mean to imply they are bad people nor trying to be a lynch mob. Otherwise if I misread the situation at the time I apologise.

I'm not going to reply any further to this thread of conversation, as it's my way of avoiding conflict and arguments online. Such things never achieve a lot apart from wasted storage on web servers.

Yes the blue is far nicer. However it could be why it went for so little. Time of year too.

I'm getting remorse for not bidding or buying it. Realistically though I need to spend money on getting the Spaceship Civic serviced, A4 thermostats changed (yes it has multiple, annoyingly), MGB fuel tank replacement and welding. That stuff alone will probably be near to the cost of that car. Oh and we're possibly moving house soon.

Yeah probably a good thing I didn't hit bid.
