The Official Autoshite Ebay Game (TM)

ACHTUNG!  Dave_Q's moral right to be recognised as the owner of this idea has been asserted.  So blame him if you end up buying more chod, rammle or general shite as a result!  E&OE, T&Cs apply, YMMV, etc. etc. etc.  ;)

The rules of play are simple: search for all vehicles, auction only,

Let's see...

Yo, I definitely didn't invent this game, someone else posted it on here first.

However I'm happy to coin in the royalties until the inventor makes themselves known.

Currently following the rules gets this little beauty winking at me.

Cat C. Won't go into gear when the engine is running. £205 with two days to go. I'm worryingly tempted. Why?

Oh wait, I forgot to sort by "Ending soonest". That gives me this:

s-l1600.jpg

100k, MOT til Jan, apparently all running and allegedly no advisories on the last MOT. £265 and two hours to go ...

I think the real danger of this game is that we all get ideas in our head about a car we want, and look for that car.

But we are still all tempted by something cheap that we've never thought of before.

The CLK is ending in 1 min @ £221.

It's got 11 months MOT!

Be still, my twitching bidding finger.

It ended at £315.99, a cost effective way to make your neighbours think you've taken up selling crack as a hobby.

Mercedes C180 (spares or repairs)

"bumper is held on with a zip tie"

"could be put back on the road with a bit of spending"

No ta, m8

I've always been intrigued by those. If I'm ever in a position where I could have a dedicated winter car, one of them on winter tyres would be fun, I reckon.

Bugger.

You won this auction.

Details about Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 12v Club 2003

Winning bid:

£240.00

Ben

And the thread claims its first victim surprisingly early.

"Multiple electrical issues"

I am tempted at £390 with 26 mins to go though.

Used to play this as a late night drinkng game with mates

Everyone would pick Any item for someone else to bid on

Whatever it was had to end within the same timeframe as all the others

The idea was to bid in rounds, without becoming the winning bidder

If anyone pulled out of a round then they had to do a shot of whatever was kicking around

I got lucky and only got caught out once, and ended up with a shed of a mk3 Golf gti....

It's a WOOD from me for the Rangey, at £390 you would surely get your money back on the PRIVET PL8 M8.

This is indeed an extremely dangerous game, I almost bought that P38... I had no prior desire for one, I have no use for it, and I'm well aware of the reputation.  What is wrong with me?

Mrs Pirate: "I've put the oven on, DO NOT put your head in it"

Me: "Of course not, that'd be stupid, why would I do that?"

10 mins later:

Mrs Pirate: "Ambulance please... yeah, he's done it again"

Oh good, a charity banger car.

s-l1600.jpg

It's newer than any car I've ever owned (by a distance) but hey, it managed to do NINE HUNDRED WHOLE MILES around the South-West. From Bath. Needs more Little Chef sponsorship, really. Wonder how much they paid for it?

Time left: 35m 32s (23 Sep, 2016 13:07:47 BST)

Current bid: £97.00

I thought the idea of the game was you had to buy it.

Ideally yes, but not everyone has the cash/space/singleness/testicular fortitude to buy random heaps just coz the internet said so.

Even if people aren't buying, they can still play, they might find something of interest to someone else.

A Citroen C3 with only 35k, that's either a Cat C or D being auctioned by the garage that has repaired it. Comes with all the whistles and bells and will probably exceed the rules at the end of the auction as it's sat at £500 right now so next on the list is...

An automatic diesel Nissan Terrano with dissolving sills, no MoT and a horrible steering wheel cover. That's more like it really.

NICE LOOKING CAR.

Strongly disagree.

Ending literally now - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-A160-1-6-auto-clutch-Avantgarde-/252462336921

Don't rush at once, now.

In six minute's time this 10 year old Picasso with a petrol engine and shortish MOT will end...£499 starting no reserve!

I'm not an expert on Picasso - I prefer Dali (Ssangyong) and do not feel capable of restoring* this future classic** sufficiently to drop a bid but if anyone else ends up winning*** this vehicle I'm more than happy to help epik collekshuns.

That goes for any other vehicular devices I find while playing this game, too.
