Popular Post STUNO Posted August 24, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2016 A few weeks ago i called at a friends house, walked round the back to see if he was there and saw a bit of Princess under a cover.today it was revealed to be a factory fresh one ! Two owners and i think 40,000 Km. It was purchased in south Island and driven home, a two day trip.Envy will ensue. especially as it was VERY reasonably priced because the late owners widow just wanted rid of the old car NOW ! Supernaut, Cavcraft, Sheefag and 51 others 54
mk2_craig Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 That looks like a real cracker!! I'd love to spend some time in NZ and Oz, sounds like a decent quantity of proper old yad lurking about in that part of the world. STUNO 1
Spottedlaurel Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Wow! When you think of what people on here are going through to get a Princess on the road, and you just pick that up...... Was it assembled locally, or an import? STUNO 1
cros Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 A bonnet stuffed with loveliness and held up by a pert pair of gas struts too. A BL bar-on. scruff and STUNO 2
STUNO Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Wow Was it assembled locally, or an import? Locally at the plant in Nelson
Dippy Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 What a great find it does seem that Princesses are taking over the forum now STUNO 1
STUNO Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 And I had to pass these to get to the rear yard. His daily C5 was behind them. Spotted Laurel, I was thinking of vulgalour when i saw this little princess. Junkman, Uncle Jimmy, DSdriver and 3 others 6
Tamworthbay Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 That princess interior is absolutely mint, there can't be many, if any, better left. STUNO 1
mouseflakes Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Uncle Jimmy, RobT, D Spares & Tyres and 4 others 7
NorfolkNWeigh Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 That does look lovely, I never realised that they were actually called 'Austin Princess' in New Zealand - every day's a school day. Edited to add: just looked at the picture of the Toledo , badged 1500, something else I didn't know existed. Fuckin Southern Hemisphere a law unto themselves when it comes to our* cars. STUNO 1
STUNO Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 That does look lovely, I never realised that they were actually called 'Austin Princess' in New Zealand - That might be me, I is old and think of it as an Austin !
NorfolkNWeigh Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 That does look lovely, I never realised that they were actually called 'Austin Princess' in New Zealand - That might be me, I is old and think of it as an Austin ! No, they were sold as Austin Princesses in New Zealand ( and possibly Australia) Leyland Princeses in the rest of the world. STUNO 1
Uncle Jimmy Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Much to love about the Princess, that shade of yellow, the colour of those seats, blending to a salmon pink arm rest. That steering wheel cover....the superb condition of it all.I dread to think how little you may have paid for it you lucky b*****d! STUNO 1
STUNO Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Anyone who has not read this carefully.........It is NOT mine.......But i just want it.

(Actually it's probably the middle of the night there so you're allowed to wait until tomorrow, I suppose, grudgingly.) Dave_Q 1

junkyarddog Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 COR!!! That's a cracker!!! Proper engine in it too,My dearly departed old one was B series powered too,100k on the clock and smoked like f**k,but never failed to start or proceed
philibusmo Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Ah that looks like the old Citroen molesters gaff in Tok? Where does he find this stuff, all of his vehicles are in such ridiculously good condition. I almost bought a Renault 25 yesterday but it didn't have a WOF, looked like chickens had been kept in it and had been clocked but I was still tempted at 400 monopoly dollars. Uncle Jimmy and STUNO 2
captain_70s Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Edited to add: just looked at the picture of the Toledo , badged 1500, something else I didn't know existed. Fuckin Southern Hemisphere a law unto themselves when it comes to our* cars.I think Europe got LHD 1500 Toledos as well... STUNO 1
vulgalour Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 That is delicious. The range of colours and trim these got in the southern hemisphere was so much better and more flattering than the majority inflicted on those in the northern hemisphere. STUNO and Uncle Jimmy 2
Skizzer Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 It's daytime there now, isn't it? I want to hear that you've bought it. cms206 1
