Christ you've bought it? Well done and all that, it looks a sensible hack, but what are we all supposed to do now ?

Save up for an Airedale terrier on wheels before OMG terrier scene tax kicks in, yo!

Posted

Can we start on the gaffa tape jokes now?

Damn, its a mk3... Stick some on the wheeltrim anyway..

Anyway, all's well that ends well.

Aww, I'm gonna miss this thread watching everybody getting irritated whist Felly silently stalks his prey.

Heated windscreens are ace and I'm disappointed when there is no frost on a morning, nothing more satisfying than sitting there watching it melt whilst other poorer mortals are scraping in the cold!

Good luck with it Mr Magic. :)

Well, I didn't pay £750, I've just agreed £500, collect it tomorrow. Saw this morning an 03 plate Focus on a Forecourt for £1095 and laughed, especially as it looked a bit scruffy

They are really good cars, I have had a couple as company motors when they were new and they did everything well, family member has an early one over in Spain and it's getting on for 400000km's now and it's still going well.

Top bombing, wack!

Well that's that done then!!

That damn Avensis is still on my watch list and winking at me.

Hmmm thinking replacement for the Seat!!!

Cunty cunt cunt cunt. Seems like the perfect thread to get a footing on the new years eve cunt count! Seriously though,I wouldn't be seen dead in a car with a cracked wheel trim,if the owner was happy to let that sdlide, who knows what horrors might be lurking! A winegum in the glovebox?20p down the handbrake? Half a sandwich in the rear foot well? Best get an AA check on it.

Great hes found a car so can we let this shit thread die.

I think the push along terrier Hirst found on eBay was worth the pain of this thread.

Well done on your bargain hunting.

You got a load of people trawling Ebay as a Denial of service attack and sniped a bid in on a Mondeo while Ebay was on its knees for dodgems and ride on toys.

Avensis (if it's the same one I saw) is still there...

I'm wondering who buys a Mondeo over an Avensis tbh.

Posted

Seems that Avensis vendor would be wise to sign-up here and raffle it.

Then have a similar issue to Clarkson with that free Camaro...

Probably because you would struggle to find an Avensis that hasn't been cabbed.

You want an Avensis? We got an Avensis.

Seems like I'm cornering the market with them. There's another one within spitting distance of here...

I actually know this car, belonged to my dad's mate. Have cleaned and serviced this beaut and can confirm it's a good one.

For fuchs sake, please don't buy the 1.4 8v Fabia. Couldn't pull the skin off custard. Bought the missus a low mileage FSH 52 plate for £1200, current issues are an oil and collant warning light, doors not locking properly and occasionally the doors lock on their own.

There's much better out there.

Me. I can't fit into an Avensis. No-one even believes me till I show 'em. More headroom in a Yaris.

Is that not the Reno 2.2 dci lump used in the Laguna, Espace and others? The one that likes to grenade itself often??

no its a datsun donk

the renner ones were 1.9 and only seemed to get to Ireland

Posted

the 2.2 doesnt grenade itself as such more like the turbot was badly speced- the vnt soots up and sticks in low boost then overspeeds as higher boost comes in then cooks the bearings which are too small ideally

ironically the vnt sticks cos people dont want to spank them cos they think it'll damage them so the vnt isnt getting much exercise and it soots up etc

Hope the pickup goes OK and the car does you well. Like many on here, I've been in the same financial situation as you. It's shit, and when your car gets wiped out it's even shittier.
