Barry Cade Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Between reading and or posting bollocks on here tonight I've been to the far corners of Gumtree,Ebay,Marketplace and Car and Classic. Had a great drive in the 500X at the weekend and found I'm missing having an interesting, older manual car . I don't actually need a car so it's for fun only.. I want a GTV/Spider, Fiat Coupe, MGF, Z3, or whatever else catches my eye. Except a TT or SLK. Had both and disliked them .... a lot. A nice Fiat Coupe has come up on Ebay, fairly locally so hopefully it doesn't go nuts, otherwise I'm having it. The Smart and the BMWR1100S can go if need be to help fund something I really want. No getting caught up in post Covid daft prices... Keep yer eyes peeled please! Keek round the back of specialists etc. 🙂 vaughant 1

Notyou Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 that spider has been just sat there for at least the last 3 years without moving an inch so they are obviously the pinnacle of reliability

None of them ever caused me any problem. All were well under £1000. . I'll take my chances! R Lutz 1

Don't want or need a 4 door and want to get back into a manual as I'm forgetting how to use a clutch! - Mrs Cades daily is a Fiat 500X. I've owned both GTVs and a Fiat Coupe 20v. Much preferred the GTV, but they do share a lot. GTVs rear suspension is totally different, but the front ends are very similar. I see the Fiat as more of a cruiser didn't feel very sporty and the 5 cylinder was a bit of a let down after owning Audis which sounded much better.

MVX11V Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Read the title and came here to offer advice on finding engine air leaks and other intake diagnostics but alas, I misinterpreted. Only thing I can say is buy a polo and ram it down some muddy lanes. It's fun. CreepingJesus, camryv6 and Somerset Suffolk 3

Barry Cade Posted December 29, 2025 Author Posted December 29, 2025 I never did the hot hatch thing.. the thought of paying £££ nowadays for things I ignored at £600 . .. nope. If I'm spending FOUR figures on a fun car, it gotta be speshal. I've been searching pretty much every waking hour this week. Finally found something, its still available, the sellers moaning a bit that he advertised it an no real interest.. I said i'll be there tomorrow on the train, morning, evening, whenever suits.. nope. He's working till after new year, its in a mates yard, it'll be locked, its miles away and it'll be dark. 😣
