A 1.6 pez Focus, well renown for their frugal running costs.....

I also can't remember ever trying out the windscreen wipers on a car I've test driven, is this me being proper lax or FM being all OTT-OCD about checking potential cars?

Reminds me of when i bought the Rover cheap. Checked wipers worked, checked elec seats worked though yes i is a winner. Got home mirrors didnt work coz i forgot that. Fail

I got arrested for stealing car batteries. Police took me to the station, and the Sergeant said "Put him in a dry cell and we'll charge him in the morning. Make sure he doesn't start anything."

I to have a police record  :-(  Walking on the moon

I once stole some medical specimens from the local surgery .

Got charged with taking the piss.

I wouldn't wish a bad time or illness etc on anyone, but there are times when fishing for sympathy seems prevalent. We've all got our crosses to bear and continuous fucking whining about it just pisses people off, especially if you can't be arsed helping yourself. Over the years I've seen some Olympic standard piss taking on various Internet pages, often from people pleading poverty and lying about their current situation. Sometimes you need to step back and look at the bigger picture as they say, it's amazing how some people can't seem to do anything for themselves yet away from the limelight somehow manage almost Herculean tasks. The dole cheats of the Internet world, I suppose. Then again I'm a miserable twat so that explains a lot.

Kinky thinks cars are bad. Damage the earth mother thing. But she also likes wood, so could maybe get away with something with quality wood* veneer.

She prefers wood in the morning or afternoon?

I stopped reading this thread at page one because sensible cars were being posted. Gutted.

As an aside I bought my 35+ year old Dolly 1850 for £850 and promptly used it as a daily motor, over winter, frequently going over 70mph for a good 6 months and the only issue that occurred was I put it over a curb/into a fence sideways. I meant fair enough, after that it needed a few things here and there before failing it's MOT miserably, but it never any £400 a month repair bills like the fucking Civic...

That's a point. Did anyone suggest a Horsey Horseless? Or Horsey Horseless charging a Trainey Trainless?

That's the problem with buying a relatively old but still expensive car like your Civic, it still needs the same work done that a £500 boring car does, sometimes more.

That's another plus point for older cars... once they've got past the point where they're likely to get fragged at the next expensive repair (bottom of the value / desirability bell curve) they tend to be owned by enthusiasts, so are more likely to have been looked after.

Or they've always been owned by the same old giffer, which is also not necessarily a bad thing.

Aye, I think the worst point to buy a car is between £1500-4 grand. The sub £1000 cars I've had have been generally great and not needed much.

Can someone post Felly's facebook about the Focus please?

This thread isn't the same without his input.

My suggestion was going to be two Fiat Pandas of the same colour.....

I like this though.

Moar pictures of toys please :)

I wonder if he's the one that snatched that Elantra from under my nose, just when I was about to "buy it now".

There's a white Hyundai Elantra on a 53 plate come up for sale on my road but I can't see the price (why do people write them so small?) it would probably be in Fellys budget and less than 10 miles from his house but sadly cars never come up for sale in this area.

How the fook has Muppet man managed 15 pages of tripe, I mean that's on a par with the decent threads about lagunas which are hidden by all this shit.

White is the Japanese racing colour, like BRG is British ... so therefore white Japanese cars are faster ;)
