Don't particularly intend to go to that event, but remembered the last time I went to BH was the Paralympic cycling in 2012.

@Blake's Denthanks very much, that's pretty special, third oldest Si I know of with a launch month registration date of 25/3/93, will have the 'close ratio' gearbox. Of course airbag light issues are very common, particularly it seems on the early cars.

I hate those types of post, why not just figure out anecdotally what he’d be happy with and put it up for that. You know it will be a list of helmets going ‘pik dem up for 200 tnite’  to some pillock telling him it’s an easy £5k.

I dont know about the hive mind, but when i think of buying an older ford, not necessarily something like a mk2 escort etc, but the theft risk thing really puts me off.

Lately i looked at a a few 90s escorts ( a ghia, a mexico , an rs2000) and i just couldnt be bothered with the risk. I only have on street parking and i couldnt square happy ownership with that. Sad.

yeah, I know, I've started thinking about how I can use our i10 as parking protection to stop the chances of my Mondeo getting pulled away by it's broken windows.

It’s the bullshit comments that they attract and the whole ‘Ford Scene’ that would wear you down. In the wider world I avoid disclosing my interest to spare myself the inevitable story about their dads Sierra Cosworth that was really a 1.6 EMAX or the time they got a 140mph out of their XR3. It just seems to attract people dressed in Under Armour trackies to feel as if they’ve got to suddenly come up with some bullshit.

The wife suggested sometime ago about a Ford show that was going on, I was like ‘do you know what I think we need some stuff from Ikea on that day’

I suppose if you take every number in the comment thread and average them out you might get something like its real value.

10 x "£300 tonite" plus 3x "mine is on agreed value for £5000" averages out at £1384 which is probably about right?

@KWhitethank you, added to the list, even if it has a fairly low chance of returning to circulation.

:( Sad end for this one.

Back in 2009 I saw two lads stack a stolen Mk Granada Ghia 4x4 into a parked car. The scumbags fucked off leaving the previously immaculate and even back then rare Ford revving it's tits off. I knew that this car was cherished by someone and the damage wasn't beyond repair.

I tried to get into the Granada to stall it as the Cologne V6 was bouncing off the limiter but I was held back by bystanders as plod would want to fingerprint the car. To its credit, the Granada lasted 20 minutes at full throttle with a fucked rad pissing out coolant before seizing.

Gutted I didn’t get a better picture. I stumbled out of a pub onto the pavement and couldn’t believe my eyes as it drove past in slow traffic. I couldn’t get my phone out fast enough. The wife rolled her eyes.

They don't see what we see, even when looking at the same thing.

And vice versa.
