catsinthewelder Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 What a fantastic weekend. Many thanks to Mr + Mrs Cylinder for organising it all letting us destroy thier field, David for driving us all around, Alex for help with the tent and everyone who turned up and made it great. The drive home was quick and uneventful (I didn't stop) it's good to see that John made it back OK hopefully the BMW will make it back without too many dramas. I really enjoyed the railway visit and spent most of the weekend laughing but can't quite remember the jokes. So glad I brought my wellies and I can confirm that Will was entirely accurate in saying that nobody ever got a hangover from mixing cider with Bombay Sapphire and this is still the case. Please can somebody post the vidio up of the raffle draw as it's brilliant Junkman, explosive-cabbage, The Moog and 2 others 5

For Fiats Sake Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 My trust steed made it the 162 miles to the FOD. I'm the big bloke with the little cocker. Hard to take pictures with a dog on the lead though. Gutted to have missed the Bond Bug. Big Yellow Taxi Maestro mileage - still available! Wheel Of Misfortune! I was the last out carwise and did require pushage: I am the filthiest shitter AICMFP. and the car was dirty too. Maestro did sterling service, hope Lucy didn't disgrace herself, looking forward to a dryer SF17! vulgalour, Conrad D. Conelrad, Angrydicky and 7 others 10
beko1987 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I've put some videos up, so here are the pictures! My lunch that I had when I turned up when everyone was out shopping 109landy's lovely Maestro! Thanks for the sticker too man! When the Zafira turned up slight mocking was done, but it's actually bloody early and at the end we all loved it! Someone tried to steak Hairnets visa but decided it was too crap The bus of dreams The Base of dreams! The first of many vacuum cleaners for me! This was the field on friday when it was still not too muddy The JCB fired into life I reckon DW will purchase a JCB soon after friday. Then it was Saturday and we went on the train. Me and Eva snuck onto the bus, met Rachel and (a little girl I do not know who she was), told them how to get to the park and Eva snuck a sit in the drivers seat! vulgalour, Junkman, trigger and 12 others 15

beko1987 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 and parked next to it and felt bloody tiny! Moar vacs The Lada was set up for the wheel of misfortune Moogs Hook a Shite game was inspired, and Bubs Xantia soon filled up with stuff no one wanted but won anyway! Then it was time for the draw, but the already crap phone signal was made worse by the brewing storm that battered us shortly afterwards. It was filmed though, so fear not garycox, davidfowler2000, The Moog and 5 others 8
beko1987 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The excitement was immense, and everyone breathed a sign of relief when JohnK won it, apart from the man himself Who had to do this to his lovely cortina to get it home Then we had to get out of the field this morning, which looked like this and sounded like this Soon we were all out of the quagmire, and I caught JohnK's top draw fleet leave This all left the entrance to the field looking like this Six Cylinders 75 looked a bit grubby after being driven out with no drama at all We then watched on and talked shite as the Brutha's Touring tried to fix the beemer's busted fuel tank, and an hour later, after some cans of scottish orange juice and palying 'how many toy cars can a 406 sunroof hold', a few of us went up the lane to check the bm did not ground out. The man with the flag had lost his flag This proved fruitless however, so we pulled into a shite looking garage to drain the fuel and call the big orange taxi I then departed, and came hoem to find I had punctured one of the veg bottles, so had to vac it out, lost 1/4 a bottle sadly, and the rear drivers carpet is a bit oily. But, amazing shitefest, thanks Chris and Mrs Chris for letting us trash your field, and I found 2 local chiters to wave at on the road, Mrs Chris in the Red ZX and the dude in the Wolsely Six who'se name I forgot. Happy Shitefest everyone, I'm off to read magazines and road tests! trigger, davidfowler2000, egg and 11 others 14
mat_the_cat Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Oh, and the V8 Stella developed some running problems, which I hope are now fixed after we took the carburetters apart during a thunderstorm. Nope. Just got back now, after setting off before 10 this morning. Thanks very much for the help though, it was appreciated as it enabled me to at least enjoy the evening without worying about it Off to take Mrs_the_cat out for a meal now to make up for a weekend without her, so will explain more later about the problem. The Moog and Junkman 2
Frogchod Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Only managed a short flying visit But got to look at V8 oily bits Sadly it's been the highlight of my uk "holiday"... Also have all uk cars been fitted with 48mph resrtictors? Junkman 1

Dave_Q Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Lolz at "2cray16" I had a GR12 time despite only arriving late on Saturday. I think JohnK needs some sort of special trophy for "Least fucks given on a major motorway" for making it home alright in that rig. JohnK, Skizzer, The Moog and 1 other 4

Supernaut Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Me and 17-Coffees have made it as far as Newcastle. I booked us a room in a Travelodge while connected to 4G this morning in the car park of Tesco Buckingham. Only £37, so not bad! He's having a bath at the moment (I've already had a shower), then we'll head round the side of the building to the Toby Carvery attached on the side of this place. Now that we've got the most boring part of the journey out of the way (all the bloody motorways) we can have some fun blasting up into Scotland tomorrow, over all the hilly mountainous roads. This morning the Xantia had a rather worrying death-wobble above 60mph though. We pulled into some services, raised it right up, then pulled clumps of mud out of the insides of the front wheels. Some of them weighed at least as much as a wheel weight! Funnily enough, it drove fine after that... beko1987, Angrydicky, dollywobbler and 6 others 9
wuvvum Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 So wheres next years event then? You tell us, Trig - you've been nominated to organise it. andrew e, trigger, catsinthewelder and 1 other 4
skattrd Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 You tell us, Trig - you've been nominated to organise it. I suppose if it's on Trig's manor it won't be too far for him to travel
hairnet Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 You tell us, Trig - you've been nominated to organise it. 100% this - seeing as he wont go outside his front door for events
Cavcraft Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Flipping hell, that looked a massive laugh, gutted I couldn't make it. You've got about ten years worth of calendar content in one go there between you all. chaseracer and KruJoe 2
beko1987 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Talking of mud, my brakes were a bit crap after leaving, took a few hard anchors and the smell of hot mud to make them better again! Its raining here now, I bet it's lovely up the field!
wuvvum Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 What a great weekend, despite the weather. I got to drive a train, a Landcrab and the legendary Sierra, as well as a Concerto with an amusing* immobiliser. Railway visit was brilliant, and I bagged myself an OO-gauge Hornby Dublo restaurant car for 3 quid from the railway shop. Big yellow bus was amazing (how the hell does something the size of my house with 180 horsepower go that fast?), and the CX did 280 miles without missing a beat. It's also surprisingly comfortable to sleep in - plenty long enough for me to stretch out on the airbed and high enough for me to sit up in bed. I think my tent may have been rendered redundant. As others have said, thanks again to Mr. & Mrs. Cylinder for making the whole thing happen. trigger and davidfowler2000 2
trigger Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 You tell us, Trig - you've been nominated to organise it. Oh dear! I was nominated a couple of years back too! I'll have to have a think of a venue! chaseracer and KruJoe 2
richardmorris Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I couldn't make the field as I had to see my nieces before their bedtime. But looks like you all had fun. And I had a great time at the railway. As I arrived in Oxford the heavens opened and there was lots of thunder and lightning and lots of crap driving too. 320touring 1
CYANIDE STEVE Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Fantastic weekend and thank you to Mr and Mrs cylinder for hosting it. So glad I could make it this year after not being able to attend for the past 3 years. I'm really looking forward to next year's event now and make it a priority over my other plans . It was nice to put faces to names too. Dave_Q, KruJoe, chaseracer and 2 others 5
