Autoshite worthy ?

Too small, my vote goes to Rickman Ranger.  Whatever it is, I would say these kit Ranchos are pure Autoshite!

I hope you owned that, even briefly, because the rules state that only AS member-owned cars can be put in the calendar, and that's a winter shot right there.

it's quite foggy where you are!

When I get back home I shall pop up some of the ebay pics as its a bit dark to unload

Rickman Ranger. Based on mk1 or 2 escort. Rickman used to do motorbike fairings and moped boxes and were one of the better Fiberglass users out there. Eventually the company sold out full or partly to Quantum mouldings of Stourbridge, the maker of the mk2 fiesta based sporty car.

Is it just me or is there no pics in the first post?

I bet an XUD would slot in that quite nicely. Shame to break it but, meh, can't save 'em all.

All those lovely Mk2 Escort bits :-(

exactly why it was bought :-D  they shall live on.

I would wager that even if this was the last one on the planet it would still be worthless.

2.0 Carlton engine I believe. Belt driven distributor gives it away.

That's a lot of engine for a wheelie bin a bit of angle iron and a couple bits of old Escort.

I would have expected an 1100 or 1300 X-flow.

thats crying out for a c20xe, does it have the manta getrag box or a ford type 9? Can't quite tell from the butchered gear lever, asking because I need a ford to vauxhall bellhousing

The sills look like they have about as much metal in them as they do on your average Manta.

The ranger was one of the better kits of the 80s and 90s kit car boom. Fit and finish, compared to some was pretty good with a good thickness of glass in the makeup of the shell. I like 'em and there's still a good number on the road around the West Midlands doing daily service.

Think of it this way. The same thought process made both the Heron of Barretts recent purchase and the Ranger. Take mechanicals from cars that were as popular as genital warts at the time and recycle them into something more useful and fun. The only difference is about 30 odd years.

  • How did Naomi get that magnetic door sign to stick?  Salon weave glue?

Some money's worth of bits there, that Type 9's worth £150 on its own let alone the other bits.

Chassis on these were remarkably strong, and being fairly light, they weren't bad on minor green lanes. Shifted too when fitted with a Burton Racing 1700 mated to a type 9

Another excellent AS purchase, go on you know you really want to bodge it back onto the road with indenor power ;)

Rickman even did a Sierra based coupe, which didn't look half bad, called the Metisse.
