Today's motoring interruption!

I am supposed to be working hard as we get close to some end of month deadlines, but parts arrived for the Trevi so there was the more important task of taking the parts to my favourite garage this morning! The photos are this mornings.

I have spoken to the farmer who is cutting our hay and he says he will cut it in a week or so depending on weather.

We will be ready for another FoD open weekend in August with the use of our 10 acre field. I am thinking 22/23 Aug but if there is an overwhelming majority for a different weekend that would be find with me.

Whichever date it is, it will likely be a Saturday for me

Chitroen finished by then or on horseback?

I'll have to ask Paddy Power if they're offering odds on the CX not just being ready,  but passing the MoT next month....

There is a classic car auction near me that weekend, but if it was the weekend afterwards there is a good possibility I could make it along with a few* BMW parts! Don't just base it on me though, as it is not certain at all where I will be by then.

ohh yay!

question I have to ask, is if you dont mind me asking do you know what, if any, accommodations would be available? (id be more then happy happy with the boat again!)

and by then would someone be happy to pick me up from MKC station?/would people be ok with the fact I public transported my way down? (I understand people where not very comfortable with that at last gathering hence why I could not make it sadly)

(or if someone could scoop me up if they are passing through London  to get to the FoD that would be very much appreciated as that would solve the whole public transport thing at least :) and also makes things a bit easier on the ol back)

as is well documented im struggling somewhat to get my own means of personal transport on the road, so im currently entirely reliant on public transport and the very kind favours of fellow shitters to give me a lift to places and such!

Probably not as one of our builder is staying on the boat as he lives in Norfolk.

It's also the Kings Lynn auction on that Saturday - if it's a proper auction (rather than online only) I'll be going along as haven't been for aaages.  Could possibly pop down on the Sunday though if it does happen that weekend.

I’m up for the 22nd/23rd - give me an opportunity to pick up those magazines.  I also have another* vacuum for Beko.

But as I have very little social life at the moment, I can do the weekend before/after as well!

I'd like to pop up and say hi, most likely Sunday 23rd?

I'll have children, could probably get ma to come along for child_playing_with duties and it'll give me a deadline for @AnthonyG s Sebo. (currently got an Electrolux Z2060 in the washing basket ready for machine polishing and a Samsung upright in the airing cupboard so it's down the queue a bit...)

Put me down for a probably, the fields cut, I can drive an car to the tap... If the generator is free I could bring the pressure washer...

Does 6cyl still need an accelerator cable for the CX2400? Can't remember. I'm just after spotting a couple of new ones on eBay....

The tap is now up in the yard!

The generator should be free, unless we're mixing cement...

Hmm, he did get one in the end but a spare might be useful. Can you share the eBay link?

Should be a goer for me. I’ll see if I can find/beg/borrow/steal a tent this time.

I have messaged the seller with these questions:

Is this for a carburettor or injection car?

Is this for a Manual or Automatic car?

LHD or RHD?

I missed that so no good as mine is an injection car.

The first motoring disruption of Wednesday was to collect the injector pump from the diesel specialist for the 1 ton dumper. I called the plant engineer to tell him the good news and he said he would not be able to fit it until Saturday at the earliest! I was hoping he would run away from home immediately given the opportunity to fix a dumper!

The second disruption of Wednesday is exciting, well for me it is, I got back today our Mercedes 200TE fully working after 18 months. Six years ago an Autoshite member gave us this car and I have always loved it, in the beginning of 2019 it had a number of problems so it had to go to a Mercedes Specialist.

I took it up to the FoD to show it off to Mrs6C and draw your attention to the old style Autoshite sticker that came with it.

I drove the 30 miles to collect it and then a Renault 11 followed me home!

I can't even remember the full list work the W124 went in for but it included:

a replacement Duo value for the heater

Welding to the drivers floor involving the carpets being striped out.

New off side front wishbone as bushes could not be removed.

New road spring as broken

Wiring repaired for central locking

New wiper blade

MOT

Why so long, I don't think he really thought somebody with a tatty 200TE was going to want the pay the bill for the work needed to get it going again, I could be wrong.

Is that a 4 or 6 cyl? I’m not sure on my merc  nomenclature.

This is a 4 cyl 2.0i 8v almost the lowest of the low but there were carbs in the early days.

In the past all 4 of my other W124 were sixes, two 3.0 12v, 3.0 24v and a 3.2 24v. The 200TE reminded me how much I like W124s and I thought about changing it for a 6 cylinder, trouble is the 200TE we have is such a pleasure I am afraid I would part with a great 2.0i and end up with somebody's junk 3.0i so I think we will just keep it.
