Six Cylinders Motoring Notes

Worth noting that the car was running with about 1/3 of an exhust system at that point, so the slightly spluttery nature of the engine running on 2-year old petrol was significantly accentuated.

After driving it a few hundred meters, it did clear up somewhat.  Still needs MOAR exhaust pipeage.

If you could drop them at the FOD that would be great. I won't actually be able to attend this one as I am due to be at the Retro Rides Weekender at Goodwood (with Cedric :)from Friday till Monday but I would be able to swing by the FOD on Monday the 31st on the way home to pick up the bits.

Just to confirm, the Weekender is the 29th/30th May, not this weekend coming. ;)

We are talking about this weekend at the moment 1st, 2nd and 3rd May. I have not yet had any conformations but can do any or all days.

The end of May bank holiday will become a possibility when I have seen a weather forecast in a couple of weeks.

I might pop along Sunday or Monday. Need to work out which day I am visiting my folks and then I can make a plan.

FoD's a bit far for me in the current climate (especially as I'm fast running out of money thanks to no job), but I hope to visit later in the year.

Next weekend, 1st, 2nd and 3rd May.

I am currently due to be working but have just put in a leave request so assuming it gets approved I shall be in attendance.

I’m on duty phone this week until 9am Monday and with a holiday (hopefully) going ahead in June I’m going to keep my socialising to a minimum until I know whether or not I can travel.

My mate Johnathan (beardedwazza) is keen to come again so he'll be tagging along with us on Sunday if that's okay.

Sorry, can’t make it. Support bubble visiting me at some point over the weekend and I also need to work.

It's quite odd to think that there's only 17 years between these two cars.  That's less than there is between a 53 plate car and now.

Then a 1993 XJ6 has a family look to a 1976 car.

I’d love to come and meet some shiters but it won’t be possible this time. It’s a long way from where I live in Devon, though annoyingly I need to be in East Claydon during the week after. Some things just don’t _quite_ work out..

That is only 6 miles from us if you would like to call in for a  cup of tea in the garden you would be most welcome.

Sorry, I probably won't be able to make it after all (although I'd neglected to confirm a day anyway).  Got an ill pet to look after.  Not entirely sure she'll last the weekend, so I might need some car therapy come Monday...

Forecast now says rain Monday, but Saturday and Sunday look good.

Probably not going to make it this time around - tomorrow is Swift fixing day and Sunday the C2 is being collected.

Look’s like Sunday’s a plan then. If the weather stays nice I will endeavour to come in the MX5.

If there are lots of moody-looking grey clouds on Sunday morning I reserve the right to attend in the Jaguar.

I shall be there too.  Likely with a welder, a grinder and  a dose of "attack the carlton".

Is anyone planning to tent it overnight at any point, or is it still a bit cold for those kind of shenanigans?

The forecast is a low of 2C overnight today and 4C overnight tomorrow. That sounds a little chilly for a tent, but perhaps for seasoned campers it is just fine! We do have the big fire lantern and plenty of firewood for evening gatheirngs.

I came into the FoD this morning and knew a shiter was already here because there was a tatty Carlton in the yard. Then I remembered it was mine!
