I have been watching this thread http://autoshite.com/topic/18805-corsa-b-£180/  and it interested me.

Train ticket and day insurance are sorted, road tax still to do, and it's cash on collection.

Last time I drove a Corsa B was a fairly new one.  It wasn't dream transport, that's for sure, but it was a basic, reliable and tough little thing that could put up with the punishment of a learner driver.  I want to try more cars this year too, this will nicely sort that out.

The Corsa is a car I said I'd never own, but they're more comfortable than a late model Maestro and just as peppy as a 1043 Polo and I've owned both of those so I needed to stop being such a fanny about it.  This one looks like it has the potential to be a little gem and should be used.

I am taking a bit of a gamble on it, I have no real need for it at the moment but I have this gut feeling that it'll be a good idea and I've hoarded a bit of pocket money to pay for it so I'm going to take a chance.  I'll decide what's happening when I get it back to base, I can only tell so much from pictures and I've not asked many questions because why would you at £180?**

I nicked your photo, RobT, but I'll be sure to take a petrol station shot on the way back as tradition dictates.

**shut up, that's why.

You know the 'cars that are good at just being a car' thread?  You just won it!  Seriously, give a 1.2 Corsa some fresh oil every year and it will return faultless service.

Glad you put this up, poor phil was going loopy!

A basic car is a good thing-that wee polo i have is ok.

Good luck avec collection thread

I can almost see Billy ejaculating his Corsafilth from here at what that'll look like with a set of proper wheeltrims and a full vulgalour.

Well bought!

Do we know what wheel trims it ought to have?  I've got a spare set that are better than what's fitted, but I'd like to fit whatever's proper for the Swing model.

As much as I'm not a Corsa fan, that actually looks pretty incredibly wonderous for £180.

Someone on Twitter called me a motoring masochist.  That seems a fair assessment.

Car now has tax on it so the only thing left to do is pay for it when I collect it on Friday.  Surely, this can't really be that easy?

that looks a good choice of cheap motoring well done,

google is our friend concerning wheel trims it appears it should sport these

I'd rather stick my balls in a vice, looks in good nick though and a mega barg for £180.

Its a Corsa B, it needs to wear Softstars or Speedlines, its the law!

Seriously though other than the trims posted I've seen a few Swings back in the day wearing OEM 3 spoke alloys and some with these: mIoh8fzRDMNdlQf2dkED8sQ.jpg

WCPGW? Hopefully nothing, as long as the bastard thing starts OK. It did yesterday...

Happy smiley faces in the advert. Did they have to drive it?

Will vulg still be smiling when he gets it home???

Those ones Hendry posted, I have an excellent condition set of 4 for sale.

I literally just bought a set of four of those in spiffy looking condition from eBay for £11.99 delivered.  I was most amused that they're located in Middlesbrough.  I've not just bought them off you have I?

I should have had this but couldn't commit to get there. For £180 it's actually impossible to go wrong, despite some* opinion on here, they're still incredibly popular cars. If I was ever forced to retire early from work and got some compo I'd open a Corsa specialists place and knock as many of these cheap ones out as I could.

IainL how many volvo's have you seen?

Have to agree cavcraft for the money you can't go wrong, the only thing that would put me off a corsa selling empire is the hoards of mongs you'd encounter daily trying to give you half of the price you have the car up for

Very jaunty. Looks like the Dailly transportation of a dynamic young go-getter with a can-do attitude.

Name change to Corsalour imminent I predict. Have you got a replacement mirror cover for the O/S lined up?

Posted

I've only been able to find a complete mirror so far, and that's only a tenner posted.  Parts for Corsas are easy peasy to acquire it would seem, kinda weird as I'm used to these things being really difficult.

A set of original wheeltrims will make it look so much better.  As others have said, they're solid little cars and Rob's a sound bloke too, can't see this being much bother.

I prefer Calgalour- "shitty old cars live longer with Calgalour"

Etc etc

Wheel trims and mirror covers aren't hideously expensive from Vauxhall new, or not last time I bought some anyhow.
