1975 Elcar Electric 2000 is one of less than 500 manufactured for the US market by Carrozzeria Zagato in Milan, Italy.

Did they make wheelie bins too?

Looks a mess to me.

Quite like the retro R5 look but those wheels are awful.

It's a concept, so it might loose some of the more fussy bits before it gets to market (hopefully).

This is a 1981 Seab Flipper. Seab was also behind the creation of the Mehari and produced the Mehari bodywork for Citroën. Like the Mehari the Flipper has an ABS plastic body. There is a Sachs 47cc engine, with two automatic speeds and the front axle rotates approx 180 degree for maneuverability. Needless to say it falls into the sans-permit classification.

Looks like it would readily live up to its name.

Wartburg Melkus RS1000. 101 where made in Dresden between 1969 and 1979, it had a fibreglass body, a tuned Wartburg 353 engine, with 3 carburettors rather than the usual one and a Barkus 5 speed gearbox. It developed 68hp and could do 165 km/h. Very decadent.

Just found out that there is a Melkus RS2000 too. Based on the Elise.spacer.png

No it's not that.  Nope, wrong again.  No, but I can see why you'd think that.

It's a Buick Sail, obviously, from Shanghai GM.

I love my restoration programmes, both UK and US, but until yesterday hadn't been aware of the Saab Sonnett III.

I'm sure you've all come across them (although only a handful were ever built and no RHD)

Nope.

His was an earlier one. A Sonnet II with the 3-pot 2-stroke engine.

I once had a passenger ride in a Sonnet III as above though, with the Ford-sourced V4. It was at Grampian Transport Museum up in Alford, Aberdeenshire.

Saw one of these on UK plates. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why import a Focus saloon.
