Re that Allegro, if you're going to ask £7k for a car, at least spend 10 minutes hoovering the carpets and getting rid of the debris on the dashboard

So for your £38000 let's look at the replacement air intake ducting on this 100,000 mile car:

We really need an "angry" option on the like button for shit such as this.

I'll have to settle for calling them "pretentious twats", and "half-arsed photoshop feckwits".

Ah, but you see, even the mere mention of MK1 ESCORT in the title instantly boosts the value of literally anything.

However, they made the rookie error of not including "NOT RS2000 MEXICO RETRO L@@K". If they'd done that, they'd have easily got a ton for it.

In this months Classic Cars magazine.

I’ve no idea how you’d go about valuing something like this but no matter how hard I try, I see this as £5-6k max.

I've always had the suspicion that the guy who designed the front of this had issues. Either he had found his boss in bed with his wife, been passed over for promotion or maybe was really, really hung over and allowed his five year old to draw the front.  It just looks like a cartoon car who is so so sad.

...the brochure interestingly is stamped by another Peugeot dealer in the west midlands. The order form shows no discount on the sale price so perhaps Solihull Motor Co failed to live up to expectation hence the order was placed elsewhere? Judging by both the condition of the car, the documentation and the hand written notes he was certainly a stickler for detail...

The advert wanks on tediously in similar vein for ages.

From the advertising text- The interior is a fabulous place to reside

Is the same sort of 309 GTi as the one I had ? (purchased back in the day for 150 quid). My abiding memory of 'residing' in the interior of that was the seats used to get damp due to a leaky sunroof. It was a good fun car to drive but I would struggle to describe the interior as fabulous.

Also  I know Wilko pointed this out, and the main point of this thread is overpriced cars on the web but Jeesus 21 grand for a 5 door!

At least its the diesel version so you can recoup your 12 grand outlay by running it as a minicab.

Presumably he damaged that corner by reversing it into a Peugeot so hard, the badge got stuck to it?

Not sure if this is the right thread but here's my collection of premium, future-classic, unmolested, 'only going up in value', wanky carandclassic ads

£5000 E39 isn't for the faint hearted! So don't fucking call him if you have a faint heart.

Already expensive versions of cars are "only going up". Remember old=classic

I would like another Riley 4/72.

For my £9k I’d want no tippex on my tyres for a start.

Amongst the usual bullshit  the ad informs “twin carburettors giving better performance”  Ok, every little helps.

Oh.

What else have they missed out? Thermostat-housing nuts for a start. A bit of garden hose for the breather?

And that is a horrid colour combination:  school-lavatory over prison-corridor green.

My pension lump-sum is safe for now.
