You're thinking of the National Autocycle and Cyclemotor Club (NACC) - see here (yes it is suitable for work) - http://thebuzzingclub.net/

Even if you haven't got a moped it's worth joining to get the club mag, which is an excellent read.

dragged it out today,it fired up,not seen it for 6 months,it just sat under a sheet getting soggy.the little mower tank sticking out is just temp, until I paint my new tank, the tank on it has a pin hole in it.

That is most excellent! Completely agree. Ditch the bars and carry on!

Well I had a stupid idea that putting a 750 suzuki engine in a microcar would work. I bought a very rough Suzuki GSX750F slingshot off ebay for very little money. Then the purchase of said microcar fell through. I have picked the old Suzuki up this morning and maybe someone else might want it before I bung it back on the bay as a breaker. Lots of bits missing and everything else is rusty. The engine turns over but it did spit water out of an exhaust port so might have trouble. It has stood for many years so don't expect a lot of it will be much good although the seller did tell me it ran well when parked up. It is missing the CDI so I wont be getting it going and no idea what the carbs are like but they did have the filters on so could be ok.

Hmmm, 750 engine + 125cc Burgervan = spastic mentallist.

after a year of on and off tinkering i have finally got a meaning full noise to come out of my suzuki gp100.

the old engine was buggered so i managed to find a new one and swap it, now compression is good, got the spark sorted with the cdi unit and on sunday i managed to get it to run for about 20 seconds using that quick start, cold start stuff, but no more. thinking its just very old fuel in the tank.

now begins probably another year of getting it running reliably, electrics working, registering and getting through an mot.

its going to take me a while, i now owes me a grand total of 250 quid including initial purchase. i know im still a long way off but those few seconds of the engine running made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

cdi unit on a gp100? if it fired up with easy start then have an hour stripping the carb and cleaning it all out,and make sure jets are clear, discard the old fuel, and use fresh stuff with a bit of 2 stroke mixed in just to run it up,if you changed the engine be sure the 2 stroke pump is bled through as well,do not use anymore easystart type stuff in any 2 stroke engine it should fire up on fuel only,if not ask yourself why not summats not right.

That's fairly oof.

Too bad it's in that Sussex. My Bert Kaempfert endless tape isn't long enough for the ride home.

Got my bike out today. I was planning to hold out till the 1st of March but the sun was out today and it's only 7 quid for the extra months tax.

Had the usual war getting it started as I drained the carbs when I put it away and the battery only has enough juice to crank it over for about 14 seconds.

Luckily I live up a hill so bump starting is always an option.

Had a nice ride over to uni on it.

So if it snows tomorrow, it's my fault for declaring spring too early.

Finished fitting all the new cables to the Tatran this morning. Next job is send off the paperwork for the dating certificate then it's up for sale.
