Mot pass, no advisories 🙂. Its done 50 miles in the last 6 years.  180MPH for 700 quid, and less than 100quid for a years fully comp insurance with European breakdown cover 😯. Madness..

Just done the fork seals on the thunderace forks on the FJ12, to whoever packed this under the dust seal to get it through a test god knows when in the past, I salute your bodgery, it was as dry as a bone, it was the other side that had failed! 😂

Blade time again. Coolant drained.

Came out looking very good, original long life Honda coolant? Was so clean I didn't go mad, just drained and flushed the radiator once. Added 2L of fresh coolant, slowly, got the radiator as full as possible and then spent a while bleeding out any trapped air, ran bike up until both side hoses were getting hot to the touch and then cap on and ran up till hot, fan comes on at 103/4 and then goes off at 102c. 👏

Will leave it over night and check the rad level when cold tomorrow,  added fresh coolant to the expansion bottle to the mark.

Set of used R&G bungs went on, slight graze on the NS but otherwise as new.

Thought about doing the plugs, but Iridium plugs should be good for 16k right? I think I'll leave that for a winter maintenance task. It does look a PITA to do because access.

Should also point out; this bike's engine code is SC44, so it's a CBR929.

New tyres fitted ride-in, tyres & RA valves supplied was £70. Money well spent.

Fireblade.  Rad was full on checking today, squeezed the hoses got a few bubbles, so added another wee top up and call that good, while I got on with refitting the plastics, always a fiddly job making sure it's all where it should be and then hand tightened but not too tight. Then set about swapping out the OE can for a period ART PRO; Made In England. OE boxed and will be kept with the bike.

ART PRO Series II exhaust can, Made in England during early 2000's. Unleashes the rumble nicely and is in great nick.

Noice. Its all about the power of dreams. Talking of which this little Honda broke cover today.

Carb clean and good to go. Rear tyre needed air and cleaning up the valve stopped it letting by. I've refitted the original airbox as it turns out Honda know better than me🤷‍♂️

Refitted the newer aftermarket comfort seat to the VFR today, what a difference - I sit about half an inch higher and slightly further back so it’s stopped my hip and back of leg ache on the original seat.

I’ve also invested in a pair of Alpine ear plugs to reduce wind noise, highly recommend them for £14.

The two combined meant I had a very pleasurable couple of hours out this morning, they’ve made a big difference to riding enjoyment.

Coming to a shiter very near me 🤣🤣🤣

A bit of a bucket list bike. I thought as I only have 6 or 7 years left in the UK I had better fulfil a couple of ambitions. One to get a BMW boxer and secondly to take it on a trip to Europe. Always wanted to ride through southern France and into Spain. So maybe next year, but most likely 2028 that’s what I’ll be doing.

I must have crossed the France -Spain border at least 40 times now. Some great crossings from the far western side right along the border to the far eastern side.

My personal favourite is the Tunnel de Bielsa-Aragnouet, about central. Ride up in late autumn or early spring and you will ride through and then above many of the ski slopes.

Just avoid any toll tunnel, toll road or motorway.

The ideal trip would be totally country type roads. You know the ones lined with trees for mile after mile 😉😉

Do you mean the abs? I have a sneaky feeling this has been done

1100s didn’t have the servo, they came in later on the 1150 upgrades.  The early abs is usually pretty reliable.

hmmmm

apart from this one couldnt find any others

kove 500x identical apparently

this particular group of companies do a bmc :D

471cc - very suspicious - more digging needed - edit just seen a tear down and they say loncin based it on hondas design

Quite possibly a comment of no real help though here goes.

My mate Dave loves his Kove.

He's got the Dakar rally looking one. Ive poked it with my finger and it felt good. He fair flys on it too.

@andyberg Gr111!! purchase. Am jealous of your plans too. I need to get a continental trip planned in. It's been too long since the last.

sent a request for px value to wheels in peterboghorror

via autotraders advert cos on their site the bike is more ££

they send me a mail with a form to fill out

but in their text he asks which colour do i want - even tho on their ad it says june offer and theres only the yellow one pictured - ive not seen other ads from them with other cl500s

errr...........

another time where you ask places about their stock and theyve no idea - odd that ive got more info on their stuff than they have

oh no.............

im doing my research - why dont they

at least they havent rang me to death (ive bought bikes via email and pictures before)

no need to speak to them as i could buy straight seeing as ive no need to ride it

Posted

thats 3 places now that have offered less than 2k in px

fuck it nick i think ill keep it

they at least were honest enough to say theyd retail it for 3k - which rips the piss even more

fuck it ill get my 1200 quids worth out of it then

also on the email you could sell privately etc and with 200 deposit you can reserve

is this something youd like to do

err no

Is this a bloke shouting at clouds ;) ?

Seems fair to me, they pay 20% tax on any profit they make, have to warranty it, prep it, pay the salesperson, keep the doors open and the lights on, pay business rates and insurance and much more, you would expect at least a £1k spread on any bike no matter how much you believe yours to be 'worth'

Privately you'll get more obviously, as the private buyer hs to do none of the above.

Do you mean you're going to keep it for a bit longer then @hairnet?

Wankers.

Maybe its a sign you should keep it hey. The ideal bike is a fallacy. You'll always want another. Pile them high I say.

Never cured the front end wibble on the NC. Still a bot of vibe through the bars slight oscillation when you go no hands. Until...

Went to dust a line of dithering cagers, the white lines sent it into a lock to lock tank slapper. Thought process was;

.That's interesting, quite a rare thing to experience on the road.

.Fuck, this things trying to kill me

.Best go into high alert mode and react

Full gas ironed it out.  Poo may have come out.

Not sure you'll see in the picture though i'm convinced the twigglets are twisted. Ive give it a proper inspection when i have time. Get these put through the rollers or buy Chinese ones for not a lot more. First thought was v blocks and press, might be pissing in the wind there mind?

Verdict. Scary stuff.

Hope alls ok.

Had a chat with a fella on the big one of them. 9 or 12 out don't recall. Its was the longer legged one, high level pipe and 21 inch front wheel. It looked like the allrounder i've been searching for. Shall be on the lookout for the prices coming down.
