The Dutch are constantly changing the format. Sequence run out quickly.

Belgium the registration stay with the owner. They too are now allow vanity plates.

I forgot to add that the only exception in the French system (apart from the letters I and O, which could be confused with numbers) was the letter combination "SS" which, for obvious historical reasons, wasn't used!

In the old Spanish system SS was used. (San Sebastián.)

I suppose Franco, who was still in power in 1970 when that system started, saw nothing wrong with the SS, they were part of the German regime that helped him gain power.

In France, that suffered the SS first hand, I'm not surprised that feelings were different!

Girlfriends Mk1 Rav (3 door) she got it from her Mum, who had replaced it with a MK2 Rav (3 door)
