Can't be many 14 year old Fluences left these days. Do you think they are still paying the battery lease?

35,000 miles, about 60 miles/week.

Does that usage justify the economics of going EV 13 years ago or did that take extreme man-maths?

Especially as I assume the battery lease price would be fixed not mileage based.

They were in mileage bands I think (as were the early Zoes), with the lowest being £49/month then rising by £10 each time a boundary was crossed. I can’t remember what the bands were though.

Edit; turns out the Fluence battery lease was much more expensive:

And a crusty Xsara, not the finest point of Citroën’s history IMHO.

Its not about the cost, its about saving the planet.

I've seen this TR4A at the local Lidl three times now, and twice in the last week.

Interestingly parked in the parent and child section. I can confirm there were no children present.

Was quite surprised to find this parked next to me when I got back to the car in Tesco car park this afternoon.

Don't think I've ever stumbled across one of these in the wild before.

There are now more of these left than normal Felicias I think.

That may well be the case! Although initially only about 600 right hand drive Funs were manufactured for the U.K. market, dealers told Skoda they were selling like hot cakes, so this number increased to about 1,000 by the end. I owned one and loved it. Funs had a 1600 engine, whereas Felicias had a 1300 one, so they were quicker, and, being lighter, were much quicker! They looked great, and with a few additions (air horns, yellow headlights etc.) were the ultimate "cool" Skoda. My daughter, who had derided my choice of cars until I bought the Fun, was always "borrowing" it, to pick up her friends, who also thought it a great car. The registration, S 300 FUN wasn't too pricey, either!

I was thinking this CF ice cream van was a good spot but it's not even the first one on here today! Guessing it's the same coachbuilder as the one spotted by @500tops  as it looks pretty similar in shape.

That’s “no one’s going to put a ding in this” parking.

Didn't have time to stop for a proper photo unfortunately, so taken from Streetview.

Went to my usual place to book MOTs for wife's Auris and my A4 - both due on August 28th - and spotted this lurking nearby:

JJK20.jpg.2113dcf5512397bb01a80934b1ab694a.jpg

One owner from new, last MOT in 2017. They've just done a gentle re-commissioning on it, on-one in his family wants it and he's going to be very picky about who the new owner is. The car was originally sold by Clark & Lambert, where I worked in the parts department in the early 80s. Caffyns took them over and soon after closed it, selling the site for retirement flats.
