worldofceri Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 A garage near my house have had this recovery truck for at least as long as I’ve lived round here (20 odd years) and probably a lot longer. Spot the deliberate* mistake. Muniphobia, danthecapriman, Stinkwheel and 8 others 2 9
High Jetter Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 I wonder how many jobs they've been called out to by plod, who've never noticed? Remspoor 1

GeordieInExile Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Was behind this for a nice drive up the east coast in Scotland this evening. Absolutely stunning. DVee8, MiniMinorMk3, Remspoor and 7 others 10

EyesWeldedShut Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Went to see a mini-gig presented by a friend's 17 year old son and his mates last night. Half the band rocked up in this fine steed. [edit] also missed papping a LHD GS that went through Lampeter right before my very eyes. Dark grey or grey/blue. Sliver numbers on black plates - looked to be French but could have been a UK number on an old style French plate GeordieInExile, Remspoor, worldofceri and 3 others 6
Bazfr69 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 This absolute beauty caught my eye yesterday, unsurprising that I’d zero in on it as I’ve become mildly obsessed with the Mk1 since we had to scrap ours. Remspoor 1

I had a Mk3 diesel. One of the best cars I’ve had, and the only car I’ve ever owned that had a higher actual mpg than the official figures.

Pretty good considering.

Official figure fir the D2D 2.2 turbo diesel was 42.5 but we regularly got 45 without trying to drive economically in any way. (Well apart from my wife’s no overtaking policy but that’s more because she can’t not to save fuel). Bazfr69 1

GeordieInExile Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Is that a new one of those ancient Soviet era things they're still making in Uzbekistan or somewhere?

Im not sure, possibly. Im reliably informed that behind the iron curtain they had various nicknames including “buhanka” which meant “the loaf” / and some sort of word play meaning to “drink for pleasure in large quantities”
