I'm also quite surprised it's still there. Not displeased, but certainly surprised.

At the top of the road outside the garage there are Merc, BMWs and various Japanese imports in various states of repair/decay literally dotted all over the road so the Triumph kind of goes under the radar.

also the location is within the clean air zone so my guess is the scrap collectors avoid the area

Looks more like an RS500 wing than an Escort one to me? Definitely doesn't work though...

I wonder if it was part of the bodykit? The rest of it is a decent copy of the Tickford one.

Now this was absolutely lovely.

So nice to see one that's so utterly unmolested.  Early style dash too which I think I've only ever seen on one other.

I see that about quite regularly and it really does look good. Same owner from new and doesn't seem to do a lot of miles, mainly popping to the local shops once or twice a week.

Having a few days away in Suffolk and these are parked in the drive of a house across the road.

Saw this near Yaldon in Kent today. Same year, colour and spec as my dad’s first company car that I went with him to collect when I was 4 years old:

What model is that? The back panel is plain which was base or L, but it has GT or GXL wheels.

I think it’s an L with the wrong wheels on. Should be steels with chrome hub cap from memory.

I actually stopped the car and reversed back to take this one and its not often I deem that necessary. But look!

The XL certainly had chrome hub caps because my Dad had one. I was disappointed he didn’t get a GT.

The L had chrome caps as well but I think the XL had some sort of trim around it.

This was parked almost here but at right angles to this for months with the bonnet popped, obviously broken. Then it disappeared for ages and I assumed it had been sold. But it's back in this elegant pose. 

Obviously spends more time broken than working but that might be normal.

Actually passed the MOT in May but with this advisory (amongst others):

'seat belt, rope and cable ties securing radiator, inter cooler and oil cooler'

It's one of those low (relatively) cost, high liability jobbies, especially if it has the early cambiocorsa gearbox.

Strange things to see on an MOT advisory though, I wonder what happened to the mounts? Rotted away? Broken unobtainium plastic parts?
