Lazy spotters thread

This was far rattier than the photo suggests. It had had a dodgy blowover in a slightly different shade of white, most of which had fallen off again, plus numerous scuffs and scratches and a missing boot spoiler. Proper shite.

And a Renner hub cap to finish it off.

In Sunny Herefordshire this afternoon

A transverse Passat. I had forgotten these completely.  And a VW post office van!  Whatever next?

From my "I would* if they weren't (ruined by being) convertible" list.  Does look nice in black, quite delicately proportioned.

Tidy arse, Y tho needs better number.

**If they weren't so expensive - most seem to be around £$€ 18000. Odd for an obscure USA car to be valuable here.

A few from my trips to France in the summer.256C34ED-F381-49D2-89AC-7ECC38929A61.thumb.jpeg.555122bda0fcb14f23ed95c6a3910af3.jpeg

This was in a service area, took the picture from the pumps, by the time I’d finished it had gone, probably one of the only cars I’d rather have been driving. Is a brown w108 ca.b. Cooler than a brown Corniche ? Discuss.

Theres a few of these in Antibes, I suppose next best thing if you can’t find a Mehari or Moke ( there’s loads of both)

This lovely hasn’t moved for a couple of years, I’d love to buy it and make a camper.

Z8 snapped from the terrace of the villa, lots of exotica driving round the Cap but I have to pretend to be cool when working , the boss was out and I was relaxing with a beer when I took this- it’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.o

This is great, twin wheel axle tipper that’s about as big as my wheelbarrow , snapped at robbing tyre place that charged €50 to fit a tube that I’d brought from the UK- you think Fords have scenetax.

Sorry the last 2 snuck in and the edit button seems to have gone.

The Espace taxii was at Gare d’Lyon and was one of many, I of course  ended up in a boring Merc C Class Uber from Gare du Nord

1992-95 Buick Skylark.  Built on the front-drive GM N-Body platform.  Utter dreck, even by lowly 1990's American standards.

Gold convertible is a 1996-2000 Chrysler Sebring.

White car is a 1990-92 Oldsmobile Toronado, the curvier facelift of the unpopular, boxy-looking 1986-89 Toronado.  It shared it's platform, and much of it's bodywork, with the Buick Riviera and Cadillac Eldorado.  This was the era of GM's cookie-cutter, look-a-like cars.  Part of the reason these expensive coupes failed was because they bore a too-close resemblance to a plethora of much cheaper GM offerings.  The 1990 facelift was meant to help visually distance the car from those less prestigious GM models and justify the higher price of the Toronado and it's Riviera and Eldorado siblings.  Evidently, the facelift didn't help woo customers back into Oldsmobile showrooms as the Toronado quietly died in 1992 without being replaced.

The edit button is hiding behind the three little dots at the top right of each post.

And that MB 100 is ace, would like it as well.

Our own little recreation of a late 90s/early 00s management car park today...

Though the spot of the day I sadly haven't got a photo of because I was driving.  Saw an FSO Caro heading away from MK Centre, pretty sure on a V plate.  I would have given chase to get a photo but sadly by the time the traffic lights changed it was long gone.

Sweet... whereabouts?  Seeing a Xantia at all is pretty rare nowadays but an Activa is nigh on unheard of... especially in S2 form.  Looks to be sitting at the right height too which points at one that lives a charmed life!

...As does the fact it doesn't have scraped bumpers.  Virtually every Xantia I've ever seen has a scuff on at least one corner.
