I had a walk in the woods to the lost steering box again ...  Made by Marles , so quite old.  .IMG_20230102_144251407.thumb.jpg.b42031aabdc181aaf11b2bfd22cc1cdb.jpg

All of the following was spotted 3-4 months ago.

In the past I would have avoided old Porsches as potential money-pits, however given the crazy prices and overcomplicated nature of some of the modern dross that has a Porsche badge stuck on it these seem quite a sensible choice.

MOT history shows this is getting close to 200K. Unfortunately MOT history also shows some aspects of the mechanicals are as well looked after as the bodywork.

It's also Congestion Charge Zone exempt - as well as MoT and VED 0-rated.

Given the way cars have got so much bigger - it also did not seem so massive these days.

Had a bit of time before getting on the ferry so drove around the area as there's always lots to spot. I wasn't disappointed:

Mutha_Stanky found an old scrapbook from1993/1994 when I visited over Christmas and there were a few shite spots in there.

Background shite at Needham Lake, Suffolk. Its been literal years since I last saw a motorbike and sidecar.

Best for last - a street scene in Budapest in I think 1993. Very shortly after the end of communism.

Apologies for photos of photos but I didn't have a scanner there.

AFAIK sadly historic vehicles are not exempt from congestion charges. £130 fines are available. Definitely ULEZ exempt and Road tax free though.

Went over to the W. Midlands yesterday on a non-vehicle related viewing and the seller rocked up in the right hand car below.

It actually belongs to my Dad's mate. He uses it all year round!

It was definitely an IoW car, I'm fairly sure Les, the owner bought it from the original family
