I imagine the arm can still be bought too - can't be any different to the current Clarke models. It's actually a fusible link that automatically closes the lid if the contents catch fire so I assume yours has seen some action in the past!

 

Surely a stick would serve the same function - once the wood burns through the lid falls and extinguishes the flames...

Is anyone able to help me with transporting some saab front leather seats from Haywards Heath area to around j15 of the M4? Or possibly further to South Wales? (I live in Neath). 

Another member has already collected the items from nearby to where they live from the seller for me, but I'm now struggling to find a way to collect them.
