The Shitefest 2012 picture thread

As I wimped out of camping over at Shitefest, I've had time this morning to upload a few photos. Other people took some too, probably better, plus there's all of today that I've missed, so feel free to add more pics.

It was a fantastic outing, great to put some faces to names, lots of cracking cars (some a bit nice for the likes of us but several gloriously crap) and all brilliantly organised by Betaboy. Thanks.

^As I told DW yesterday, this is one of my favourite cars ever. Here we are admiring the awesome 1.9 diesel power.

7574087906_67ea70d867_z.jpg

Our team (The Superior Wankers) won the Autoshite pub quiz. I don't understand why everyone else said we were very sad people, when clearly we're pretty happy. Anyway, AnthonyG has custody of the coveted trophy, for now.

Lancia Gamma, unregistered, delivery mileage. Awe-inspiring...

...Check out the odometer.

And here's its friend (actually in even better nick).

Go on, when did you last see three Betas together? Whenever it was, I bet they weren't parked on wet grass.

7574091342_17612a734e_z.jpg

Another Beta shot. I'm in love.

7574092800_4d1c8325fe_z.jpg

Suggestions welcome for a caption for this shot.

If there had been an award for Best Autoshite Tent, Vin would've won it hands down.

7574095124_66363cdfdf_z.jpg

For some reason this is the only shot I have of Philibusmo's new purchase, a beige G-reg Hyundai Pony 1.3 Sonnet Tropicana (behind the Betas). We can now stop Autoshite because Phil's won.

7574095752_aaf5621cb5_z.jpg

And as the sun sank beneath the threatening clouds, and the Citroen BX Preview of Fate got plugged into the Battery Charger of Destiny, it was time for me to fire up the Rover and head homeward across the water.

Who's got Sunday pics? Did you wake up underwater? Did you make it to the museum? Did the Betas dissolve overnight? We must be told!

Looks great, gutted I couldn't make it.

Any drunken punch-ups?

Posted

Looks like it was a good do. :D

Can't remember the last time I saw 3 Lancia Betas in the same place PERIOD.

Posted

It looks awesome.

I've got a feeling updates may be sparse today with sore heads and long journeys home for a few of the attendees.

I don't think I've ever seen a rev counter marked in hundreds before. Looks really weird.

Hopefully he lives miles away from punching my face in territory, but who is the dude who looks like a Hollyoakes/porn star extra?

That'll be Barratt. His trousers are brown. Far browner than any brown trousers I've seen before or since. And I was wearing brown trousers myself.

He reminds me a bit (in a good way) of Eddie Shoestring :lol::lol:

I didn't take many pictures, and those I did take won't be anything like as good as those above due to my cheap camera and complete lack of photography skillz. It was good to see my old Rover 75 again, and the Pony / bonnet moment was the hardest I'd laughed in a very long time.

I wondered how my blanket got wet (that I lent to Phil while he was lying on the ground dismantling the bash plate and radiator to get at the bonnet catch). At first I thought it had rained, but it turns out everyone pissed themselves laughing :D

(Rover was pleased to see you too, and be briefly reunited with its stablemate Of Doom!)

Yes, as mentioned above, I made a grand entrance....Almost!:oops::oops::oops::oops:

I would like to thank everyone for thier help in extracting the 'luxury' motorhome from the mud pit. It was greatly appreciated.

Thank you to Andy for organising this meet and to everyone for making it a truely entertaining weekend. It was nice to put names to faces too.

Looked like a great event. I must make it to the next one.

Hey, that's what my girlfriend says!

Not really, I don't have a girlfriend.

Anyway, did I mention this was ACE? I basically didn't take any photos 'cause I was too busy LOLLING MY COCK OFF and generally having a GR21 time.

I did manage to capture the full beauty of the Iveco rescue effort.... part one

DSCN3478.jpg

and part two, a slightly different tactic

DSCN3480.jpg

And that was the last time I got my camera out on Saturday! I made a half-arsed effort to take some photos on Sunday morning but I also couldn't be bothered to move from the Simca

I only took one photo at the museum too, and this one just outside

DSCN3503.jpg

Had a nice run back along the A4 following Seth's Dangerously Low Arrow (Seth just popped over today for the museum bit)

And we stopped off for a quick photo opp on the way

[pendant] Surely its just dejeurner, not petit dejeurner, as it was dinner they were lacking, not breakfast [pedant]

Sorry.

Nice to see the 'Council Estate' 740 was there.

Volksy was telling me this afternoon I was a chump for missing this and TBH I would have been better off coming there as ended up spending £££ going round all the pubs in Leeds with a woman who did not have sex with me at the end of the night, or any point in the night or the morning. *grump*

It is truly shocking, can anyone please help me out?

that's the interior of the G reg Pony......really glad someone from here bought that as I was sorely tempted myself when it had one bid with a hour or so to go. Had the bluey not sailed through the MOT again I would have done!

Also gutted to have missed this....forgot until Sat morning!

All you lot who said you'd come along put didn't, I hope your all mighty jealous now! Betaboy (Andy) put on a cracking show even if it did mean he ended up £200 out of pocket as the numbers were down on what was expected (We did have a whip round this morning for him though).
