Shite in Miniature II

Okay, so... @TheDoctor had put in a few requests from last week, and happily I may have been able to make his tat dreams* come true.

Corgi Fiat X1/9 is in decent fettle overall, and some of the smaller marks may clean right off.

20200124_114024.thumb.jpg.8487027e2e83c5cb9101d3f551396540.jpg

For £2.50, this wasn't bad at all.

Corgi Polos are mebbe not the best - but he did them for 50p each, so perhaps an enjoyable project for you and Doc Jr?

Hopefully there's one reasonble model between them!

And lastly, there were indeed two Matchbox Unimog snowploughs in the tat box - though one has lost its plough, possibly in a snowdrift somewhere.

20200124_114044.thumb.jpg.aa88f867bf66bf871339c98c2e250949.jpg

If you're happy with those, will add them all to your box!

Next up, was this another one @sierraman had previously expressed an interest in?

20200124_114134.thumb.jpg.0a34793f35fa34da5a8e31221f648ead.jpg

It's the Matchbox Ford Cargo skip truck, only with Jurassic Park logos and an oversize boom, presumably for lifting dinosaurs and such (a common fleet option at the time).

As well as the Opel Manta, @andy18s had also asked me to keep an eye out for a white Matchbox Ford RS200 that appeared in one of last week's pics.

Unfortunately, despite a fair bit of digging, I was unable to locate it this week - BUT that doesn't mean it's not still in there, so I'll keep on hunting,

I also picked up some other random old bits of Matchbox tat, which may or may not clean up.

20200124_114207.thumb.jpg.69ade6fa0bff266390fa30a5acd9aa94.jpg

All available at cost price, should anyone fancy them!

[EDIT: Capri now taken, others still here]

Finally, following on from last week's engine load - it's the tyre load from the K-22 DAF loader set.

20200124_114230.thumb.jpg.04fb155276fc60448aadd9ac8f6310f8.jpg

I don't know why finding this pleases me so much, as I don't have the DAF truck any more - but it does, somehow.

So! Perhaps not the week to end all weeks, but hey - if it wasn't for the hope of things getting better, why would any of us keep going?

Keep it tatty, kids - til next week!

I think I could do something with that Capri. Not sure what but I could do something, maybe a Crayford. I’ll take the cargo as well if that’s ok?

I picked up this rather nice Matchbox Unimog during the week.

Nothing fresh in Barrow today, sorry.  I didn't even take a photo because you've seen them all before.  There's always next week...

If @TheDoctor doesn't want the Fiat , I'd be happy to see it in my box. It's my brother's 50th in September and I've decided to try and build a little collection of what I can remember of his favourite cars, a lot were either mine(56) or our othe brother(53)  hand me downs , but I remember him loving a green Corgi X/19 and blue Mazda B1600 for some reason. I'm going to have to wrack my brains for what else.

A recent find is this near mint Majorette Saab 900.

Sure thing, will put those aside for you - then do some sums later!

Would love to see a Crayford conversion on the Mk1, that'd look ace. Bonnet and glazing aren't really there, but the rest of the model is surprisingly straight.

I'll take a look again next week - it's a stall that usually concerns itself with costume jewellery, Barbara Cartland novels and dusty sets of five leaded crystal wine glasses, so toys were a new one there. No-one about, otherwise I would have asked - but I'll see what I can do!

@Datsuncog That's awesome, thank you.

Let me know once my tat box is ready to post and the cost please.

Sure thing - will get the abacus out later and hit you up with a total!

I'll certainly keep an eye out - those Fiats crop up fairly regularly, and I've seen a Mazda pickup or two on the stall before now.

Let me know if there's anything else which comes to mind, and also minimum acceptable condition - how wrecked were these toys by the time you'd passed them on to him?

Daaaah, I think that cage was lying loose at the bottom of the tat box and all - thanks so much for that, will see if I can swipe it next week!

We ought to have some sort of Tat list - items we are all looking for. A sort of shite amnesty. Then when one of us sees one on our travels...

Totally! I don't know about anyone else, but I find it hard to keep up with stuff on this thread, it moves so fast.

I am always up for anything that is beach or holiday related so mainly caravans or beach buggys also cars with a boat on the roof, surf boards on the roof or just a boat with trailer, see Mrs Concern's Summer House...

Good idea - might work best in Google sheets or something - or maybe just a dedicated thread in the open forum...

I've a Google Docs page on my phone, where I tend to jot down folks' wants as they crop up during the week and then see what Friday morning brings...

Some sort of shared place to add any diecast we're searching for might be handy, right enough...

Superkings Sand Cat missing a spare wheel on the front?

I missed out on Tat Friday™ due to a very long day at work - just wondering what the TAA van is? The Sand Cat is a rarity as it's only in those colours at park of the set with a car transporter. I have a really nice one but it is also missing the sticker that covers the holes - orange versions of the casting have a cat's head mounted there!

As soon as I see those godforesaken cardboard price tags I immediately switch off. Sometimes this happens when a decent charity shop gets over run with middle class bohemians put the prices of everything stratospheric thinking it’s some sort of fucking artisan antique shop.

Re the Matchbox Golf,I reckon they changed the rear number plate when they changed the casting to having nothing on the roof.I used to have the 4x4 Rompin' Rabbit version which was an American release from what I remember?,the 2nd type of number plate does look more like an American one.

Has anyone got the German ADAC version with the aerial & lights in the roof rack holes?,it would be interesting to see which plate that has ?

No, I don’t think it was released here. They did some really interesting Europe only issues in the late 70’s.

New Norev Pug 203 arrival, a few undisclosed faults, but it was cheap enough to forgive the seller, especially as it might be 60 years old.

Agree with the ridiculous pricing policies of certain chazza shops (Oxfam tends to be a special case).

However, some of those Bond partworks aren't outrageously priced by eBay standards. I'd have a hard time walking past the E38, Mach 1, Corvette and Matador if I was in that store....

Posted

I have the first 71 of the James Bond partworks all up for sale at a very reasonable price (complete with the magazines and the three free subscriber models) if anyone is interested...

Three subscriber models?  More info please
