Not really shite but I joined a 'Bburago Collectors' page on FB. Not much in the way of older stuff on show but I did find out why my 1/18 Bburago Ferrari F40 was slightly different to the apparently very similar HotWheels one I have.

I was given the Bburago (Right) for Christmas 1989 and bought the latter from a FB group about 10 years ago. The Bburago is based on the prototype F40 whereas the HW is 10 years newer and based on the production car. Probably only interesting to about 3 people worldwide but thought I'd share anyway.

From the "It's not a toy, it's a collectible" era, but for £6 it's a steal - I paid nearly that for a second hand one at the boot sale months ago that one of you requested

Next up, big plastic Lucky Toys Golf, specifically as it's far less UV damaged than my current one

Never knew that. The Bburago F40 will always win for me though. The amount of times I stripped it down and rebuilt it as a kid is numerous. Quite possibly my favourite Bburago model ever.

These have arrived.  They are a really nice quality thing - metal wheels, really heavy and just feel 'nice'.

Not quite right for the firenza I dont think- not quite wide enough (which can probably be fixed) but more they are quite big in diameter.  Maybe something like 14 or 15" wheels in scale.

I reckon they will look spot on for the zodiac though.  As soon as ive sorted the bodywork on it (he had cut away the arches on his to give more room for the wheels) ill have a trial fit and stick some pics on here.

If anyone needs wheels like this though, id definitely recommend that seller on ebay, they are lovely quality 😎

Deliveries today and more to come, I've gone a bit trigger happy on ebay.

First off a Juniors X1/9.

20260128_155400.jpg.338b9b13368c2bc46fd76c4b41915c41.jpg

I always got mixed up between this and the TR7 as a wee lad, both real and in model form. The wedge shapes looked similar to me. Now I have both.

Next, an absolutely cracking Atlas French Dinky Rekord. I spotted this one in Blackness in 1990 and always wondered what it was.

FB_IMG_1769615471599.jpg.3f4aa96c96eade26443693aae4c2d2d7.jpg

The following year, I got that toy car book for Christmas where an identical model was pictured. Of course, back then it was rare and non-existent at Scottish Swapmeets. I'd have preferred the original in the matching colour scheme to my spot but this one is absolutely lovely.

20260128_154903.jpg.9d37b365c2dadc902f41674d8ddeec2d.jpg

Great detail, I'd have loved this model as a 10 year old.

20260122_121609.jpg.82ee8b0b5dc66f01f38595232d84884f.jpg

The other reason I got the Dinky is because I'm downsizing from this Revell 1/18 model. It's mint and boxed but it's composite (plastic). Some interest in Marketplace,  it'll sell eventually.

The other reason I got the Dinky is because I'm downsizing from this Revell 1/18 model. It's mint and boxed but it's composite (plastic). Some interest in Marketplace,  it'll sell eventually.

The Dinky Opel Rekord is one I'd liked from when I first saw it in a catalogue as a kid and I bought one of those Atlas ones last year in a toy fair. I still wanted the original and eventually found a couple so I have made one a replica of the catalogue one.

I'm not sure which colour looks best.

I've never seen this one before, Majorette Amphibie. Does anyone remember a kid's TV series in the 80s where they used to race these around a course including a section in a lake?

Are you thinking of The Banana Splits (1968-70)?

This is Fleagle, the others were Drooper, Bingo and Snorky.

No, this was more of a "It's a Knockout" type challenge type show with teams of kids. I just always wanted an Argo then and now

Crayford Argo 6x6 Bigfoot, 2005 [Auta5P ID:3481 EN]

Similar to this but was definitely UK

Dont want anything for them, just cover the postage costs. I think they’ll go in a padded envelope?

Theres a little tab thing on the seat bases where they originally plugged into the floor of whatever they came off but cut that off and they should fit whatever you like.

These turned up today and look like they will be spot on, so thanks again 👍

When i get a second to try them.and start mocking it all up, ill stick some pictures up

Glad they’re of use👍

Definitely interested to see some pics as you start doing the cars, they’re quite an unusual subject!

Yes! I've been trying to work that out for years

That show was one of the reasons I used to love going to Lightwater Valley near Ripon.

They used to have Quads, Trikes and Argo's

Although the best thing they had there was the Skatecarts. IIRC the track was a lot longer and faster than the current one. Although I was a lot smaller then...

More useless information… these were originally marketed in the U.K. by Crayford.

The scoop is borrowed from the Volks-Dragon, but I don't think the injector stacks are shared - a shame as one side has gone missing. Casting is the #8 DeTomaso Pantera of course, base is unchanged

Following a tip off from @Burnside on the miniature ebay tat thread, I bought a Schabak Sierra Sapphire missing the rear lights and he offered to supply those same lights if someone bought it.

Missing lights

Or not

IMG_4025.JPG.59714597118d0ec619b1e37a81ebd829.JPG

Strangely the box is labelled Schabak, but the base Vitesse. I thought I had several Schabaks, but actually I only have one

IMG_4026.JPG.915ab9ffd939fecb9e4fb235f7d64b61.JPG

They are both really nice with opening stuff which I really like

IMG_4027.JPG.6d1fa16d28798aa3bcff7966c4630fa6.JPG

So thanks once again to @Burnside I probably wouldn't have been so keen without the lights

The Superkings Silver Spirit is a splendid model. I think the weight of it is to the same scale as the real car!

Interesting about the Schabak with the Vitesse baseplate, I didn't know about that relationship.  Weren't the latter Portugese?
