Rockets Jag, I've got a tatty one to modify in a box somewhere but don't know if I'm skilled enough to fill that boot area in. Maybe ...

Ironically, given I am trying to make Bob his 2 stock cars from his racing days, there is a picture of him on the real version of the above - Quite literally, given Hednesford is a Spedeworth track (although I dont know if t was in the '70s to be fair) after winning a race, here, albeit with the frame setup on the front at the time, rather than in the boot :D

An unusual appearance from me in this thread. Going through trying to sort stuff out and took a few photos. I have loads of matchbox, dinky and corgi stuff to sell/ get rid off so I'll keep sticking a few on here at a time.

Anyway these are a few I'm keeping but I thought people might be interested.

Closest I'm ever going to get to owning an E49 Charger

On the odd chance anybody is still reading I would part with money to buy an Autoart/ Biante XB Falcon Coupe. However having just now looked at what people are wanting I might not have enough!!!

Good score on the Cortina, you always seem to get the best new finds before the toy fair comes my way!

I have a similarity needy MK3

Another landing courtesy of the ebay mini tat thread. I had it on watch, then the price dropped and then ebay sent me an offer*. What was I to do 😂

I have a lovely 1/25 boxed Bburago 190e but I didnt know Polistil made one. It's definitely the same age as my Polistil 740, same wheels, paint and interior colour, so late 1980s. Its expectedly more crude than the Bburago but in very nice clean condition.

Here's one that might make an interesting mod on a mini Clubman Model

It's the Morecambe & Wise version of the Starsky & Hutch Torino.

Sometimes I think I must be going absolutely doolally. Got a notification to say my Polistil MK1 Fiesta was ready to collect, but I knew I already had it. Nope, turns out I thought I missed it the first time, and bought another, from the same seller! Both have clearly been glued onto a display at some point, and have code numbers painted on the base

This was an Amazon purchase I really hope works as intended - a tiny reciprocating sander, which I think will be ideal for getting rid of those infuriating casting lines, my mini sanding discs are great but sometimes you need to get into a corner etc that they can't touch.

Has multiple different heads and self adhesive sandpaper cut to size in various grades.

Just need a victim to try it on now

The only other one I have is this Mercury Cougar with silly narrow back window because of the axle supports.

Not quite sure how I'm going to achieve what I want with this, but the reciprocating sander did a good job on the casting lines, it's a pretty tidy thing other than these on the front wings

Any ideas how I can creat door handles?

For the door handles, maybe try to grind out some handles from the casting,  using a set of these (I have this set myself & they do 'cut' castings well)-

They will fit dremmel type tools, you can also get a smaller grinding pen from Dspiae

Need a steady hand and good eyesight though

Maisto bus looks good, what scale is it?

1:25, they do a few different sizes but this is the most common

Not a bad shout, I have various Dremel attachments including some burrs etc. might test the theory on a disposable casting first though!

I always liked the Cameo Minor casting as its an earlier Series 2 rather than the late 1000 that the 1/43 classic was. So split windscreen and smaller rear window.

I also went mad a bought a Corgi Cameo set, of the familiar Kellogg's/Fina/just about everything cars. These are in less common colours though

Don't remember seeing the Mior in blue before, and I remember them all having grey plastic bases. My one is probably the only childhood toy I have left – they look really good with a bit of lowering and de-bumpering...

I like the Corgi Cameo’s too. The Mini is the only one they made a hash of, the others are all pretty good really considering the period they came from.

Were there only four cars available then? Mini, 2CV, Minor & Beetle.

Yes just those 4, unless you count their Days Gone-esque stuff 🤮

I liked the 2cv as well because it was an early one, unlike my Corgis which were 70s models.

I had the red Mini but my first issue Corgi one was way more preferable!

I might check ebay for a nice set of them now!

Got a little BungleBox in the post today containing some Corgi Jr’s Transit donor’s to restore my childhood pickup version. So I’ve set about stripping it down ready to go. It’s sat in a tub of paint stripper overnight now.

You can just see the bright yellow original paint colour. At some point I decided to repaint it a different yellow in the way kids do, ie; with a 1’’ brush and get paint splodges over everything! It’s been rattling around in a couple of sheds and a garage in the decades since and has picked up a horrible greasy oily coating too.
The old black out glazing is covered in paint but it’s all crazed and brittle too so that can go in the bin and be replaced by clear. I might pinch a set of the wheels from the donors too as the ones here are not my favourite type and also have yellow paint on them.

Had a play around with Val & Earls Jeep Gladiator Thriftside too.

Loosely mocked up and sort of looks about right now.
I’ve made a plastic card cab back as the original was cut off with the original truck bed. Both axles were removed as I need to space them out from the chassis to raise the ride height as the movie truck had a lift kit installed. Once the glue on the cab back is dry I can start joining the bed and cab properly and rebuild the cabs rear window. The model comes with the later style large window but the original movie truck had a much rarer small window.
The bed needs a fuel tank adding to the lower sides and a new rear bumper. The original truck had a home made chequer plate type thing on it.

Another filthy wet day with high winds, which may account for customers and traders both looking a bit thin on the ground at the market this morning:

IMG_20260206_0821282.jpg.2de87e713969d7b319ce72f32fe95019.jpg

No General Tat stall, and mostly non-movers everywhere else too.

Week Three of the Antiques Shitshow failing to sell any of their somewhat expensive boxed stuff.:

IMG_20260206_083003.jpg.7b4a1e50eeb4d696786efaa5dc2f9bd7.jpg

Kinda interested to see how long these will hang around for.

A fair while, I'd guess.

IMG_20260206_083006.jpg.ca04e6e99600e6e08c97246d9e4498ec.jpg

A few less than pristine Matchbox were also on offer, probably at mega money too.

Yes, that is £50 asked for a small plastic clock.

Ye gods.

Similarly optimistic diecast pricing was on offer at some adjoining stalls:

IMG_20260206_083125.jpg.49f161911e4346f41ab5f3781d14355f.jpg

Corgi Vega$ Thunderbird with missing boot lid fails to shift at £20 shocker.

A pair of Matchbox Promotional Model T Ford vans were also there, in the least inspiring corporate livery imaginable;

IMG_20260206_083059.jpg.e6c88a13e4753d1f58ed75903f9aa097.jpg

I mean, why even bother?

Some new stuff had appeared on Colin's Irish Tat stall:

IMG_20260206_082220.jpg.fa534bfa375153bf1188e2283cbcc45c.jpg

Norev 205 was nice, even if the scale was unclear.

IMG_20260206_0822312.jpg.fc16b2116a5d600cef3c79eeee4d34ef.jpg

Smaller than 1/43, but bigger than 1/64. Or is it just my tired old eyes?

Vanguards models still tug at me, but at £40 they're straining at the edge of affordability and the wheels on the orange Capri II look abysmal for the price:

Greenlight El Camino was interesting; bit better proportioned than the Majorette version:

IMG_20260206_082254.jpg.465656ed82af1155a0d978929e71bb7b.jpg

Some fresh Matchbox Skybusters had turned up, too:

IMG_20260206_082332.jpg.599760ba70e49fbd42fb57aad1dc140a.jpg

But I don't need to be starting another sub-collection here...

Turns out he doesn't have any more of the white Jeep Wagoneers in with his other stock, having checked during the week.

IMG_20260206_082612.jpg.12b59a9daee9515d87b72963d6153a14.jpg

He said he might order up another case, though this lot have sold disappointingly poorly so it may be a while before he goes ahead.

I'd have snaffled more off him, but I'd already bought most of the above models last year from various outlets - generally as Power Grab boxes at twice the price. Annoying.

Last stop on the Old Belfast Diecast Trail was Alan's Emporium:

Oh, here.

IMG_20260206_0820202.jpg.22cb40ea6849d0053910f63d68b8bf8a.jpg

Some newly arrived Matchbox and Hot Wheels, including this World Class Porsche 944 Turbo.

Well, I'll not be leaving that behind.

I also nabbed the no-name trailer that Eddy mentioned last week, before grabbing a coffee and cinnamon bun and heading back out into the storm...
