B&M have a full set of Japanese culture premiums in 8.99 each. I couldn't bring myself to part with £45 but it was quite cool especially the Prince Skyline.

The Corolla is the standout one for me in that set. Making me think about building one of the 1:24 kit versions I have.

I've been checking out a few Facebook diecast sales pages lately, one chap has had some really lovely Porsches up for auction - annoyingly I missed the end of the ones I most wanted due to a breakdown call out the other week! I still picked up a couple of really nice examples that I'd not found before, the Superkings is one I don't think I'd even seen previously

There are many versions of the Corgi Carrera of course, impossible to get them all..?

This I found in the large job lot I bought recently. A very obviously fake box, but someone's really put some effort into creating it. I don't think the Juniors casting ever came in this packaging anyway?

Found nothing in the charity shops today (one of which absolutely reeked because someone had dropped a proper eggy fart) but there was a massive tub of cars in Cash Converters but only came away with 3.

I went though a box of those ages ago trying to find the most Escort-like shape. Was not the Escort when I opened it, much disappoint.

I too did have a good feel of the package (oh matron) to see if I could make out what was what.

I was hoping someone on here knew the serial code for the Escort like with that HW Stratos.

I couldn't find out any way of telling them apart without opening the bags.

Here's what it looks like anyway

I bought one of those Nanos but it was a Lykan Hypersport, whatever that is. A bit steep at £2.50 or I'll stick to normal HW from now on.

Glidrose was Ian Fleming's publishing company, Eon are the film company that made the James Bond films.

Gildrose Productions was an earlier incarnation of Ian Fleming Productions.

Eon Productions are the film company that make 007 films.

Big mistake by Corgi is it's a DB6, which Bond never drove in any film.

As for the box it looks like someone just shrunk the original Gold Corgi box.

PS @AndyW201 beat my by a minute.

Very much enjoying myself with these recently acquired Matchbox Working Rigs:

IMG_20241124_1110382.thumb.jpg.9d6f7094edec4e0318778d1cb56d7c64.jpg

The International box truck has a working tail lift, as well as opening cargo doors.

IMG_20241124_1110102.thumb.jpg.ac630b848b629c756b5e7c78f35f54d7.jpg

It pairs pretty well with the loading bay on the Action Drivers FedEx Depot.

Surprisingly this model is all screwed together, rather than riveted, so could make for an easy custom project.

The MAN hydraulic lifter truck's not dissimilar to a fleet of DAFs used by a builder's yard local to me.

IMG_20241124_1117102.thumb.jpg.44c0aac9caf414d421b707853281608a.jpg

The telehandler arm extends and rotates, which is pretty neat.

IMG_20241124_1124582.thumb.jpg.bd845a21ebe8fcfb3dfdbcb473d4dccb.jpg

And the dropsides go up and down too.

IMG_20241124_1118192.thumb.jpg.84b24cf5d0aa5185ca5cb827adb7fcac.jpg

All the functionality you could ever need.

IMG_20241124_1119082.thumb.jpg.257ccba689ca3cba9fb557677c5f7d4f.jpg

Pure belter. The casting and detailing are nice and crisp, and it looks right at home on the Construction Site set.

Lastly, the Mitsubishi 3000GT isn't a Matchbox item, but looks just right cruising outside the Pizza Hut playset.

IMG_20241124_1115332.thumb.jpg.7749b769ef5c0b8fd2d071e93d844929.jpg

It's a really nice model, this.

IMG_20241124_1115482.thumb.jpg.7d3125c2112fb793a928ce1967158812.jpg

The Mitsi maybe didn't have the same image as some of the other iconic '90s Japanese sports cars like the Skyline or NSX, but I like them.

IMG_20241124_1116172.thumb.jpg.9d89d682ac767161a513aba480ab5149.jpg

Look at that shine. Lovely.

These may only be toys - though arguably the Hot Wheels Premium range is targeted more at adults - but they're so well thought-out and constructed.

I'm constantly amazed at how good these functioning Matchbox trucks and play sets are, for the price. Just wish they were a bit easier to track down in the UK - but maybe the thrill of the chase is what makes them seem so special?

Went to toy fair this morning

Mrs Concern got a load of Minic ships and jetty stuff for £10 from my fave seller, this was a barg as each of these would go for about that on ebay plus postage!

IMG_0636.thumb.JPG.1ce70a0e54f9de9ed940939e14944644.JPG

I got this lot from the same seller for £15

IMG_0638.thumb.JPG.19269a3945da8291239b4fa416f4e107.JPG

And these from another regular I often buy Spot Ons from, they started out at £5 each and I paid £20 the lot. I was hoping to paint the Minor without taking it apart, but annoyingly the steering wheel is rattling around loose inside. This seems to be thing with Spot On as I have a Land Rover the same! The bFrench Dinky Ami is lovely, I wonder if Steve Flowers does a bonnet?

IMG_0640.thumb.JPG.31794dad3503a37bfc06aea37e5e6f82.JPG

£15 for these two, I have a Pilen Javelin in chrome, but missing a door, but this green one is perfect. The Mira Alpine/150 is pretty good, but missing something from the roof, I must have a look on t'internet to see what it should be.

IMG_0639.thumb.JPG.f871660130a30fd3a9744fe8e2f2acc4.JPG

Another regular didn't have much I fancied, but he still had two Corgi Bugs I asked about a few weeks ago. The price had gone down to £6 so I paid £5, still more than I wanted but still..

IMG_0642.thumb.JPG.f8570fe5fd1066517eec150f47a21fcb.JPG

When I put on my jacket to go into Arundel for a cup of coffee, I found these I got in Great Yarmouth for 50p each a while ago

IMG_0641.thumb.JPG.23b4a9132889e73dd433b290525c505d.JPG

In a junk shop I saw this Lone Star Taunus, I had an orange metallic one as a kid, but I don't remember it being so big as this. I also had a green Fiat 2300, a red Corsair and a red Rolls.

Also spotted these

Sounds like I really missed out going to this one!

That Spot-On Moggy Minor looked good. Not one I’ve ever seen before. Bond Bug is very cool too.

Those ships and docks though, I had a few bits of the dock and one of the ships (single funnel liner I think) as a kid. Obviously they were old even then so must’ve been handed down. I had no idea they were Minic though.

"Bombieros" translates to Fire Dept or something remarkably similar, so I reckon the Alpine is missing a blue light, or possibly a red one.

I'll try and keep just to the more unusual or interesting* ones, starting with type 2s. There are stacks of Johnny Lightnings, not something I've really pursued before. This one seems to be worth a few quid, and there were two in the mix

Is £20 the going rate

No. I do really rate Lone Star but they'd have to be mintier than a Clarnico Mint Creme for £20 each. Funny enough I've just arranged the purchase of the earlier Taunus like that with opening bonnet and boot, it's been customised but that's not a problem for me

There are many versions of the Corgi Carrera of course, impossible to get them all..?

This I found in the large job lot I bought recently. A very obviously fake box, but someone's really put some effort into creating it. I don't think the Juniors casting ever came in this packaging anyway?

Car itself is very good, baddie has been previously ejected of course

Who were/are Glidrose and Eon?

PXL_20241123_182140856.jpg

Yeah I think they normally came in a window package on a card. The box (i'm assuming it's a home made mock up but looks good) is modelled on what the earlier type larger scale one had, that's why it has DB5 on & the car is a DB6. It always (even as a kid) bugged me that Corgi modelled the Junior on a DB6. I mean did they really think nobody would notice !?

Cool model though, oddly I had a few as a kid & the ejector mechanism on the Juniors one never seemed to last long.

Here is a few small recent purchases from me:

20241125_143355.thumb.jpg.4a67b3df2181537b2504dc0dfffd1fde.jpg

I was inspired by @bunglebus's purchase of a Welly 1/64 FSO Polonez Caro. I found one on eBay at a reasonable price and purchased it. I'm actually quite taken by nice and detailed it is.l, I love the little mud flaps it has:

20241125_150539.thumb.jpg.30d8d8e846b4387e0b17408d1259b871.jpg

I never knew there was a Mk2 Transit tipper so bought one alongside the orange Mk1. As you can see in thenfirst pic, as the front didn't really resemble the Mk2, some felt fettling has been done.

20241125_143424.thumb.jpg.54b760ce654120d1714a61df47fdbc56.jpg

The Zodiac Mk IV is probably my most recent fave purchase out of this lot. It seemed difficult to find one that either hadn't lost most of its original paint, or those that had them were asking £silly. This one was reasonable, not cheap but not so expensive either and the condition is very good. I'm well happy and love the engine bay with its proper spare wheel rather than it being moulded into the engine bay.

@Tenmil Socket - If you're selling that KITT superpursuit, please let me know. I want to try and collect as much of the KITT cars as I can. eBay sellers want big silly for them from what I've seen so far.

A Zodiac with its bonnet still present and early wheels is a lovely model. Took me years to get one, I think mine came from St Georges in the end (AKA Tat Friday).

It sure is a lovely model. It took me ages to get one too. In the end I got one off here, then a while after found a few in job lots which I’ve now moved on. I’ve got the later speed wheels version too in that lurid green colour!

It ran for ages (8 years), well it seemed like to me. It used to be on on Sunday nights, it was one of my mothers favourites. She preferred it to the likes of Hawaii 5-0 and the Streets of San Francisco. She was also a fan of Raymond Burrs previous puting as Perry Mason

It was a PC TV show long before PC had been invented, but then some of the PC brigade today would grumble that Raymond Burr was able bodied and should not play the part.
