Postal arrivals once again, spotted these lovely condition Laser Wheels on Facebook. I don't think I ever had one of these as a kid, they're so achingly late 80s with the CD effect on the wheel centres

I've got that Mira 128 but it has the earlier wheels like the 505 and a plastic base. An absolute joy.

I've a busy weekend ahead so won't have much chance for hunting the Fiesta - may have to hit up AliExpress.

Those 80’s Mira Pegaso are ace. A Cepsa one would have been more fitting though!

Laser Wheels were brilliant, the Rover Sterling was my favourite, quite a hard one to find now as well.

I finished the 1/25 Tamiya Beetle.

Even with a coat of lacquer the paints still a bit flat but overall I'm really pleased with it. It really captures the shape and it was a joy to build.

The number plates it came with were not to my liking so I'm on the lookout for a decent set that does a square rear UK plate.

What do you do with stuff like this? Obviously repainted, nothing wrong with it but doesn't belong in my collection either really

My latest delivery of toys collectibles.

A little while back I accidentally broke the light bar on my NYPD Plymouth Fury. I couldn't get an exact replacement but did manage to pick up this blank version with apply-your-own number decals.

IMG_1825.JPG.d673bc593aa527a8e0898fba33ac799a.JPG

Also got the Terminator version of the Fury and a Jeep. Both are basically compulsory purchases for me.

IMG_1827.JPG.1d2863ef557aa1db4aa1b21396b73881.JPG

Another Cadillac Eldorado joins the collection. I've got two AutoWorlds already, but they're coupes not convertibles. Being a Green Light, it will stay boxed as the quality is probably shit.

IMG_1826.JPG.ffa2eff53847928ba979e1aa96466162.JPG

Not familiar with the AMC Rambler Marlin, but it looked weird and reminded me of the Sunbeam Rapier.

IMG_1828.JPG.1f172425ffaf74e4c6c17493efbb3c7b.JPG

Finally, my second Mini GT. I was impressed with the Lancia Stratos I got from them, so gave this Lincoln Capri a go. Very high quality with many individually fitted parts (even the exhaust, which was a surprise). The wingmirror is flexible so it doesn't brake off easily which is a thoughtful touch.

Really nice. I can't deal with plastic kits, they shed parts as soon as I look at them!

You see, the trouble with me is, as clean and original that is, I'd always be mighty tempted to paint that spare wheel black and add a little silver to the wheel centre for that "authentic" look.

Of course, being nice clean and original, I'd have to annoy myself and be extremely careful how I apply the paint, careful to not get it on areas that are difficult to clean or remove over-paint off.

The one to find with those is the one with rear glazing.

It's only the rare blue one that has that. Someone found one at my local boot sale on a week I didn't go. I believe it also has a different model number on the base

Got a very nice one here that's had the camper shell painted, if you want a go!

Sounds like back in the day when things moved a lot slower. I'd imagine that when Lesney came up with the Mustang build, obviously they'd have got one of the girls in the typing pool to type a letter to the Patenting company along with copies of the plan, photos etc... then sending it off continuing with production with the "Patent Pending" underneath. I know I had a few Matchbox cars like that.

Matchbox did quite a few Holden vans and Utes in their Collectibles range in 1/43rd.

Here's some that have been and gone over the years.

I got given these paints off a colleague ages ago and recently had the idea of attempting a plastic model kit whilst we have the dark nights to keep me occupied (I’d normally potter about in the garden).
IMG_1482.thumb.jpeg.f31c9283fed342df9a885f7e24a85c43.jpeg

Aldi are selling these Airfix kits for £7 so didn’t need to justify it as I’ve just spent the last few days in Amsterdam paying up to 11.5€ for 500ml of beer 😳 *and I like a beer or two, plus it was my birthday!

IMG_1478.thumb.jpeg.575136b6232662ed8c9b1bf6e6c71034.jpegIMG_1479.thumb.jpeg.08292f1b8eb6d977115935986d2944e6.jpeg

If anyone has any damaged or incomplete kits they don’t want going cheap then let me know as I’d like to practice.
I’m nipping into Warrington with the Mrs later while she pops into Beaverbrookes to buy her colleague a birthday present (how times have changed), so I’ll have a mooch about looking for an XR2. Where’s the best place to look? I know there’s an Entertainer or a Works (sic)…

I just checked all the Superfast from my haul the other week for Patents. If they have a mention they all have Pat App on the base. Anyone seen one with an actual number on?

Ebay prices seem a bit daft to me with the minimum being asked is around £15.

I decided not to mess about trying to fill windows etc making a replica of my boss's van, just bought this online. Annoyingly it's held together by the grille, which pushes into a slot in the base, so it's almost impossible to dismantle without damage. Panda currently drowning in paint stripper
