Looks like it might be the Heller R30 kit...

Renault R30 TS, Heller 163 (1979)

(I had that one too - the bodyshell was bright yellow, which fits what you're holding)

Great pic!

You’re probably correct, thanks!

Some good news for aficionados of certain Hot Wheels releases... though not quite the magnificent news I'd hoped to bring.

Called past B&M at lunchtime, while on a mission for yet more plumbing stuff.

Initial impressions were good, but...

1912645428_IMG_20230404_1314292.thumb.jpg.c9ef572b0e6c54539572b065dd1d7fce.jpg

It turned out that three pegs+ of Flying Customs was, in fact, mostly pegs of off-roaders and other stuff that had been faced over with a few Flying Customs.

Well, bother.

So after some much-needed tidying (once a shopkeeper, etc etc), we ended up with just over a single peg's worth of FCs.

861739619_IMG_20230404_1326492.thumb.jpg.c10c580974d181bd974dd41c50fc253b.jpg

Lots of these Disney Pixar Lightyear items, though, plus a few Fast & Furious cars left (just the jacked-up Charger and the silver Jeep).

204719330_IMG_20230404_1322362.thumb.jpg.68377b154c92ade78096854d6cc58eee.jpg

So the elusive item today was the white Shelby Mustang - while the others in the range were available in varying quantities (about eight orange Mustangs and gold Custom Ottos kicking about, yet only one solitary red Plymouth GTX), tragically there were no Shelbys at all to be found.

I hoked around the adjacent shelves and even got down on my knees in case one had fallen to the ground and been kicked under the racking, but nada.

So that gives us 7/8 of the complete range for @flat4alfa, plus only one of @AndyW201's missing pair - the Chevy Nova wagon.

1417320037_IMG_20230404_1648272.thumb.jpg.335be81a8a0257c315236ac412065d54.jpg

But fret not, I'll keep looking for a brace of Shelbys... there are a few other B&M stores on the far side of Belfast I've yet to have a nosey in.

I did snaffle these two for myself, while I was in there.

641563260_IMG_20230404_1648582.thumb.jpg.b19ffc629d4f71d07a6322cf073fcbbd.jpg

I previously had two examples of that Dodge van - in blue-green and in yellow - but passed them on without ever opening them, which was silly as I really liked them.

So this is an attempt to atone for that - though I'm not so struck on the krazy orange glazing on this blue Hot Wheels racing version.

The Matchbox snow plough reminded me strongly of the similar MB45 release back in the early 1990s - and what do you know, apparently it's a revised version, now re-tooled and re-released (though with less metal and more plastic bits than before).

I kinda liked the blue-grey National Parks version in last year's mainline range, and kept picking it up and putting it back repeatedly while in Tesco over a period of months.

But then they were all gone.

This yellow Road Maintenance one looks pretty nice, though.

The chase continues...

Just a quick note- my local Sainsbury's has Matchbox 5 packs reduced to clear at only £2.10!! I don't know if this is a one-off, but there are some bargains to he had.

Sure thing! Will check later on... I'm hopeful there'll be a full set scattered across the pegs, but is it a case of 'all or none' - would you still be interested in six or seven of them if not quite all are available?

Whatever is available thanks

Still not seen at all in any store over this way

Not in my town they’re not.  Even the HW box is useless. (Spotty for rant)

If you buy the one with the Polizei Beetle and BROWN BENZ and don’t want those two please can I partake in a purchase or swap or whatever

I Have now cleaned up the Corgis I bought at the toy fair on Sunday and pretty pleased with how they came out...

IMG_6406.thumb.JPG.bc8aca615bf2c0d0049a9c3869dbe64d.JPG

In particular the interior is now lovely and while givving it a polish I noticed that this does also have the name HJ Mulliner Park Ward on the base like the RR refered to by @eddyramrod.

IMG_6407.thumb.JPG.2c5823a572f547a2a3450df1b9f1ba55.JPG

The Citroen Safari came up really well as it had a load of yellow stuff over it, more or less gone now

IMG_6408.thumb.JPG.63ab6f6939e300b6a6821c639eac50ed.JPG

As you can see I've fitted new tyres

IMG_6409.thumb.JPG.99a345f5b87a92395647d3981e117b6b.JPG

The Pathfinder looked good anyway

I thought I took pics of the Classic, but apparently not...

So I have now fitted the jewel to the headlight of the Bentley I got from Dan

and a spare wheel

Happy with that!

IMG_6423.thumb.JPG.b52b9935d5b1dd49dadc2c14b3435a00.JPG

As you all know I recently painted some Dinky Mokes to look like Prisoner models for the summer house. I've also painted a Matchbox Super Seven (from dan as well maybe?) even though it's the wrong scale and also the later streamlined style Seven, but came out ok even so (IMO)

I see the spare has slipped after I UHU'd it, please don't tell Mrs Concern as she'll have me doing it again and I CBA.

Lastly I bit of a strange question as I'm undecided what to do. I have my Dinky rally Cortina, owned from new that at some point I repainted

It's hand paint Humbrol, but looks ok

IMG_6413.thumb.JPG.9f51aecee87de31c2d0911535d084592.JPG

I painted the red Lotus stripes to replace the paper stick ons and did the bonnet and boot in white rather than red

IMG_6414.thumb.JPG.47cdf770929b0339c6d71aefa570db42.JPG

So I'm inclined to re do this by spraying it as I have some white and red paint and could buy repro stickers

IMG_6415.thumb.JPG.c0838a2cc69bbeff14988dc7151b697a.JPG

I can't decide, leave as is or re do more accurately with spray and stickers?

Same, I’d leave it as it is. Looks great already and it’s personal to you.

I'd absolutely leave that one as it is - there's loads of restored Dinky Mk2 Cortinas in the world, but only one that looks like yours!

For me, a restoration is a great way to bring a shabby/ playworn toy back into displayable condition. Your hand painted version is very much displayable, and has a personal history which it seems a pity to erase.

Maybe keep an eye out for a shabby but structurally intact one which you could then bring back to as-new condition, without losing any of your own history?

I did have a fairly ropey example which would have made an ideal resto candidate, but sadly I already moved it on a few years back!

Another vote for leave as is. Social history, innit.

I find the lustre of older painted models quite captivating, in some instances.

Here's a Spot On Land Rover where I'm retaining the previous owner's efforts:

20230405_081902.thumb.jpg.3129f03776abcc453bc6b45d2e505811.jpg

The rustic effort suits the subject, in this case! Plus it appeals to my inner laziness.

No worries, did find that locally but felt cheap and avoided the £9 charge. However £2.10 would probably make me buy the set!  Then would sink into armchair in despair and blame the cat.

The Polistil Silver Cloud III Coupe is not a Shadow, so was not allowed to this party..   as, despite both Polistils being stamped 1:43, they got that one way-off as it's a good size up.

Bit late to the Shadow Party but do have this in reserve  😶 ^

Favourite is the Eligor. Don't know why, just because.

Am I the only one to think Eligor (despite this misses) has been underated?

The Eligor range was, I think, exclusively metal re-tools of old 1960s plastic Norevs - what's not to like? All the charm but none of the wobblyness / ability to exmplode into a million pieces if you look at them wrong. I only ever had one, the Ami 6, which I repainted to look like the one in a Practical Classics test of small 60s saloon cars because I loved it so much. Years later, I became friends with the subsequent owner and I've driven the car on several occasions.

I had an Eligor Peugeot 404 estate and I always thought it was plastic/ resin rather than metal... just something about the finish.

A modest little haul of HWs last week:

IMG_4274.thumb.JPG.e9c72d51b66015b53e6c47a0a3c70da0.JPG

I know I already have several other versions of the Mazda.

Did well on a visit to the local Tesco yesterday:

IMG_4276.thumb.JPG.40d0cda4873ead87d265b614a8c097bf.JPG

The red RS was sitting on top but it was the only one there. Got the MBX trailer as it matches the Nissan pickup (which I didn't realise until I saw a photo on here the other day). No joy in finding the Civic.

In kit news, I'm working on this Mazda RX-7 as a quick Easter project:

IMG_4211.thumb.JPG.3b608b9beb7a298b8955daaf9340e7ca.JPG

So far it's in primer, awaiting final colour choice and chucking together. It's a rather simple, almost cartoonish model so I'm not worrying too much about detailing. Not yet decided on wheels, but they need to be wide.
