Yes - same as the Organ Grinder except slightly bigger front tyres. That dragster gave one of its engines to the Wild Honey I customised and I still have three left, so it didn't die in vain

Late entrant for Tat Wednesday - a parcel arrived earlier courtesy of @Amishtat:

I love finding out what's available in other areas via local papers.

Very well packed!

Aaaaand... this was as far as I got before I was summoned away on domestic duties, annoyingly.

I did get the bubble-wrap off later on, but too late for decent pics.

Still, if you fancy some more 'what is it?' larks, you could try guessing what's inside!

Answers in the morning...

Two of them look like pickups, have you found a pair of Corgi B1600s, one in Surfsider livery and one in Block Construction, that you're kindly donating to me? Maybe one's a yellow Playart? I don't mind either way

Correct on two pick-ups, correct on Corgi (well, one of them, anyway)... care to make any further guesses?

One looks like a (presumably less knackered) Heavy Duty Wreck Truck. These seem to be piling up here for some reason

2021-07-01_03-43-54.jpg

Another is a Corgi Land Rover with either a supercharger or spare tyre poking up, and one is a fire engine...Matchbox Merryweather?

And I would say the other one, bottom left, will be the Dinky 1960 Chevy El Camino, or possibly the Lone Star twin.

The two articles have turned up today. Really impressed with the Rancho, it’s cut above the Matchbox. The Renault 11, looks like a later release possibly round about ‘85. Both will be pride of place in the loft. Next is to look for a good 1:36 AMC Pacer.

I have Rescue Pacer.  Here it is photographed in front of a screen showing @Datsuncog's pristine boxed Pacer X example

Well guessed, @bunglebusand @flat4alfa!

Dinky Land Rover 109 S3, Corgi Land Rover 109 S2, Lesney King Size AEC Merryweather ladder turntable, Lesney Scammell Wrecker in earlier white colours.

156456404_IMG_20210701_1123502.thumb.jpg.69965c52dc7e889fb26b3616ede91404.jpg

I do like the Land Rovers - I had quite a few Corgis at one point, but only my knackered childhood Whizzwheels example is left.

The Dinky I've never before owned, and it's a handsome, chunky  big thing with jewelled lights, plus opening bonnet and doors.

Detailing is pretty neat, and the rear numberplate shows it's on an H-reg - so at a guess this is a 1970 example, from the very first year of production.

1116921906_IMG_20210701_1123562.thumb.jpg.79031132f9cbbc5eea1ea3070e732cc1.jpg

It may be slightly challenged from a wheel perspective, but I'm guessing this is nothing Steve Flowers can't sort.

517744542_IMG_20210701_1124102.thumb.jpg.005f05b6321d9733aacbc016c523e96b.jpg

Screw base = easy resto.

Big Merryweather is in lovely nick, with very little paint wear and the decals more or less intact.

1331696321_IMG_20210701_1124262.thumb.jpg.161190f8c60d99999b3b76c81aea1863.jpg

Ladder is in great shape too.

490662588_IMG_20210701_1124412.thumb.jpg.7fb698c2e46a37e84330f2a65adf422e.jpg

Most of the ones I've encountered at the market have been totally brutalized, so this is a welcome addition to the King Size fleet.

Lastly, another Scammell - I already have a gold transitional version with regular wheels, but I kinda wanted an earlier white version too.

587934838_IMG_20210701_1157002.thumb.jpg.bc54cc08e31845415b9f6880873974d0.jpg

It could use a little TLC, but probably nothing beyond my meagre capabilities. Just like the gold one, the glazing's intact but jammed down within the shell, and just needs coaxing back into place and secured with a dab of glue.

All thanks to @Amishtatfor not only finding these in the first place, but shipping them up north, retrieving them again and posting them! Much appreciated!

I was too poor to have the big pacer - I had to settle for the junior.

I think this was one of the first things I bought off Ebay from a fairly local seller. I ended up going back at least half a dozen times when he listed other stuff too.

Corgi did rather well at doing the same car in different sizes

I don't, or not yet anyway - most of the examples I've seen have been slightly banana'd for some reason.

Surely kids in the 1960s weren't deprived of rollerskates to such a desperate extent?

I have the Super Kings version

and the shrinky dink wheels tractor unit Scammell Contractor

Plus the Super Kings era version

20200820_142212

as I mentioned several Wreck Trucks, all with missing grilles

20210213_15583620210627_09585820210630_155311

Just noticed the front bumper is different on the Wreck trucks

There is a de-banana'd Scammell Contractor here that I've had as long I can can think.  Not from new though, as clearly older than me...   It has some excellent shrinkage and as a result has a three-tyre deficiency.   Not that it would stop its involvement in a @Datsuncog garden scenario event, so will put it in your box if you would like it

The SuperKings came from a recent visit to @Spottedlaurel's secret nuclear bunker man-cave house.  It has also lost its grille!   There is an obvious market for these, and it seems Mr Flowers has not picked up on it ...yet

Crikey, first market morning of July. Though in some ways, it feels like the year's barely begun...

More or less a continuation of last week on the Tat Stall - nothing new that I could see, and a few things I'd hoped to find were no longer there. Bah.

1062467959_IMG_20210702_0803052.thumb.jpg.f4b220ff2a1274afe1c2b6bce2c97cfe.jpg

It's the usual mix of Dinky, Corgi and Lesney items, with a couple of Hong Kong no-name racers thrown in for good measure.

1981363231_IMG_20210702_0803502.thumb.jpg.084bff1f97b42d6e8d1ade534e27785b.jpg

Mexicali plastic hot rod and Green Hornet Black Beauty sadly not on the stall any longer. Meh.

974057414_IMG_20210702_0803382.thumb.jpg.af83456a305bbb5fe12d91e322b4f9d4.jpg

Painty-fun Mini was back, though. Still a fiver each on these.

1779348174_IMG_20210702_0803452.thumb.jpg.cd563576b70a2d20069c2c670d22a32d.jpg

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang x2 both still there, though missing multiple bits. Construction vehicles mostly ok; usual tyre loss on the Lesney King Size. The Superkings Camping Cruiser is missing its rear door.

Corgi Olds Toronado is probably a viable resto, though fender bender damage at both ends is annoying.

1181735835_IMG_20210702_0917112.thumb.jpg.bcf745070dc2e8f9a47117e74acee129.jpg

Britains (?) motorcycle was missing a handle, but quite appealing all the same.

1476480179_IMG_20210702_0809242.thumb.jpg.7e8b003848a5f02dadbd643fb2f35b51.jpg

Couldn't see a name anywhere on it; just 'England' on both sides of the front number plate.

Likewise, this unnamed big wooden garage in an art deco stylee was still here; I don't believe I posted it up separately last week.

282603390_IMG_20210702_0803252.thumb.jpg.f32730d32be82a378fa8dae650e0f3d5.jpg

£20 here, I think. But postage might* be an issue. It's heavy!

Didn't know Palitoy had once had a crack at muscling in on Hornby's patch:

1209846896_IMG_20210702_0803302.thumb.jpg.95621131cb5a6a8a776d0b3a8025e77c.jpg

And inside... hmm.

72277631_IMG_20210702_0921252.thumb.jpg.e3367ce00eae5a76cdaaa463b8928880.jpg

I'm not sure this set gave Hornby execs much in the way of sleepless nights. Detailing is somewhat basic, if we're being kind.

Also, 'entirely shockproof' seems to be shown up as a lie.

I'll assume the bits for the battery compartment and motor for the loco have been shovelled into this box (presumably non-original, though I like the idea of curing your 'bilious headache' safely with a model railway).

1479433821_IMG_20210702_0921372.thumb.jpg.4b630d4297696dec60955efaac61fb99.jpg

£10 asking price on this set, according to Market Blokey - his comment of "well, the box is nice" somewhat damning it with faint praise...

Little stuff still had some ok items left, though the very clean regular wheels Crane was gone from last week.

754721281_IMG_20210702_0803162.thumb.jpg.8711bfcbce411860c411e28e9cc5dc66.jpg

Later Superfast crane in red and gold missing its hook, and with bonus wibbly wobbly wheels.

Opel Diplomat not too bad.

338049211_IMG_20210702_0810272.thumb.jpg.434ba96d3ef4619ce6fa1f87d7ecd9bf.jpg

Never realised these Juniors Mercs had a cardboard tab inside them with the 'Taxi' sign poking through the roof, braced against the back seat.

One way to do it,I guess.

Husky Citroen Safari is the later version with a metal base.

Dodge Tipper was reasonably clean...

But the axles are bent all over the place.

More before 'n' after Humbrol fun to be seen with these pumpers...

Husky bin lorry actually looks very clean under the artless daubings.

1985720475_IMG_20210702_0810092.thumb.jpg.e1ee7ef7c25c88b3f99febfdf442ccda.jpg

Ford pick-ups with regular wheels in middling condition:

Never realised the GMC Tipper and GMC Refrigerated Lorry had totally different cabs.

Well well well.

So... that was pretty much that.

Nemesis was present (green Adidas Gazelles today, trainer fans), and amongst others managed to score what I believe was a Husky VW Beetle, plus a Dinky Holden EH.

380985002_IMG_20210625_0800052.thumb.jpg.7f1008e472bfb7abc1e5559c7cabf12c.jpg

Well, bumflaps.

I took a wander round the rest of the market; Paddy (of optimistic pricing fame) had an unloved box of diecast and other 'of their time' collectable items on the floor beneath one of his tables:

838959102_IMG_20210702_0813252.thumb.jpg.2adb4e64cf1ac20a9dfd400ca8440d8d.jpg

Some of this stuff I'd seen before, but the Corgi Mercedes 600 and Impala cop cruiser were new.

2110350907_IMG_20210702_0814342.thumb.jpg.0adf7726e451c2af260ca76ada7d4dd9.jpg

Both were pretty ropey, and I doubt he'll be pricing them at less than a tenner a go.

Charity Stall was less mobbed today, but still only had the Corgi horse box to interest:

770554882_IMG_20210702_0815332.thumb.jpg.538a8c57463cc635809266a64ca792bb.jpg

Of course, the tow hitch is broken.

One of the general antique stalls had this vaguely Plymouth Fury-ish Fire Chief tinplate:

1689043586_IMG_20210702_0816072.thumb.jpg.243bfe3d07f5010696a3fc09ab2a380f.jpg

No price shown, but the stallholder also has these Franklin Mint pewter classics, and has done for the last two and a bit years...

1345131441_IMG_20210702_0816112.thumb.jpg.9c31248fe3457e47a1c721fa129081fa.jpg

So there we have it - a bit of an anticlimax, I fear, but hey - where else would I be on a Friday morning?

If there's owt you see that tickles you, I'll be here for another half hour...
