The Citroen badge is a bit misleading as it is a Romanian Oltcit club. It was a Citroen design that was not used when PSA took control and a Romanian company manufactured it with Citroen input. Just for max confusion it was later marketed in Western Europe (not UK) as Citroen Axel.

I was asked to test a tyre pump this evening with a broken cigar lighter plug. It looked a lot more dramatic than it was!

I have not said much this week as I have been working daytime and in the evenings Colin has been round working on his Mercedes and my Mini. It has been pretty repetitive fill, rub down and paint for both of them. I hear you ask why are you worrieing to tidy the Mini when it is rotten! I am told for a Mini it is not that bad and next week Geoff an experienced Mini licker and friend of Colin is taking it for welding.
I have also located and bought the missing fuel fitting for the Royale that has taken me a month to trackdown and this evening fitted it in preparation to get it running at the weekend.

I'm happy with how the paint finish on the arms has held up given the car has been on the road all the way through the salt and spray of the winter.

The 2CV was carted off to a classic motor pervert enabler over in Spalding last month to have its bodywork fixed after I decided I was going to need help actually sorting it out. Well last week I had a message that it was ready and today myself and the FIL sped off in the ‘Gooner armed with the towing dolly to collect!

All went absolutely swimmingly and despite a question mark over one of the dollies cracked tyres nothing fell off or exploded and the 2CV is now back at home complete with new floors.

Hopefully this month I’ll get chance to reassemble the interior, fix a couple of electrical gremlins and actually get it MOTd and on the road after 24 years of sitting in a garage!

Bought this in 2020 salvage, 62 plate with 50k as our ‘family car / missus runabout’
All in after repair costs it owes about £5k.
The missus had a mishap on Thursday evening, it’s just been written off again. Been offered £5k for it. It’s now on around 110k. Fairly happy with that, just waiting a buy back figure then I can get it back on the road (again). Should have plenty left over to buy something else too, as I’ve found all the body panels I need in the same colour for around £700 (that’s including the AMG spec bumper)
i know these are just an appliance but this has been a decent car for us, so glad it’s going to live to see another day!

The reason I got the Rolls Royce out yesterday was to see if we could lubricate the spigot bearing and and stop the drag on the gearbox to reduce the crunch noise going into gear.
My friend Rolls Royce Ian took the floorboards up and the access panel off to reveal the front of the gearbox shaft. Revolving the shaft so the pinhole oil point  was visible for a small shot of oil from a squirt can. The oil hole leads to an oilway in the saft. Trouble is there is no way of knowing if the tiny oilway is blocked. The result was no change and it crunches going into gear when stationary because the gearbox input shaft still spins even with the clutch pressed.
The last picture is Ian's 20/25 and his Humber.

    A different flavour today.
The Rolls Royce came out of storage today and to get it out I had to move the Peugeot 404 that started with a jump.
I also needed to move the Renault 4, but the knob to open the bonnet feels loose and is not opening the catch, anybody know how to get the bonnet open?
Because I could not move the Renault 4 I moved thed Citroen DS instead and it started fine with a jump.
The Rolls Royce would not start and I diagnosed petrol, took the top off the vacuum fuel pump to find it was dry. I then took the DS for a ride home to collect a can of petrol. I put a couple of Litres of petrol in the pump reservoir and it started, then I could here the vac pump working.

After a little routine maintenance and general roadworthyness checks yesterday (in which I discovered a loose engine mount), it was decided to go for a little Cotswold bimble. As always the little Brian put a smile on my face and of many we passed.
