I'm glad it's not just me that upside down pictures happen to

My 1st work van was a t reg ex royal mail escort in 2003. When I put it in for an m.o.t. at 4 years old it needed brake pipes and a patch on the passenger sill. I watched him poke his pokey thing straight through it. It was the slowest vehicle I've ever driven as well. I reckon it was restricted.
They're all that slow

My dad generally had 3-5 year old cars that he changed every year due to getting bored, until the cambelt went on his Alfa 156 V6, which had to be sold to cover the cost of repairing the engine. Seething, he picked up a slighty rough '91 Saab 900 turbo 5 door, for a few hundred quid, which was brilliant, just had the 'rightness'. A series of early 90s shitters followed, which was good fun and probably showed me that old cars can be reliable, interesting and cheap as long as you don't care too much about impressing people you don't know. The age of his cars has been decreasing recently, but he wants to have a day looking at Saab 9000s so he's still got the bug.
My 1 year old son has a Moskvitch pedal car for when he's a bit older. It will be interesting to see how he turns out.

I'm looking at the Ford Ka, Pug 306, Jaaags, Discos etc etc.
I have to say I've found 306s to be rather corrosion resistant. Even the one that went into a barrier backwards and got left caked in salt for months didn't start to go on the exposed metal. Trebor extra strong mints on my tongue dissolve slower than a Disco 1 though

On eBay. My drive is bustin

Home now, no thanks to the bank. Ended up sending the seller a bond of £100 by PayPal as a kind of shared risk, as in I've paid the asking plus a grand but he's letting his van go without being paid, and will refund the money when the payment clears. Same bank, same account didn't hesitate when I sent a much larger amount on similar circumstances, and I set up the payee beforehand to ensure it went smoothly, but no such luck. Such is life. The van is a beauty. Not to everyone's taste but I love it.

10 points to eddyramrod. Minus 50 points to Santander, who blocked my attempt the pay the seller for security reasons, in spite of me setting up a payment before hand to prevent this. I passed security and they took the payment, but it may not arrive in his account until the end of the next working day... Tuesday! So I'm 250 miles from home waiting to see if the money has gone in and trying not to think about how much of a CUNT it's going to be trying to get back on public transport overnight when I give up hope

You absolute Legend.
?
p.s. take photos landscape on your phone for correct upload orientation
Think I've cracked it, landscape & upside down, all other ways result in fuck ups.
Not an Isuzu Trooper (if it was a guess)

Might be worth mentioning the vehicle in question. It has 4 doors, was made in Japan and has a 3.2 litre engine

It's been too long since my last collection mission, and the familiar feeling has returned. First part of the journey was a taxi ride. No pictures but it was some some sort of Hyundai driven by my future MIL. On the first train now. This isn't it.
But this is. Train shite, I approve

As promised, some better pics. It looked better mucky than after a hasty jetwash after a week of 12 hour shifts but at least these will be the right way up.
It's still taxed and insured until the 31st for test drives. Looks slightly shit but its one of the better cars I've owned, with easily the best stereo

The remote is for the head unit that is in the car now but the original will be going back in

Coming up, and I'll use the camera so they aren't upside fucking down

I'm picking up what will be my new daily driver on Saturday so the Volvo will be soon redundant. It has never put a foot wrong and I've developed a bit of an attachment to it but I need to adhere to a one in, one out policy for space reasons.
Better pics to follow when I've washed it
MOT til september, 151k miles. It's the top spec (which is next to meaningless in volvos of this vintage but still) and has full cream leather, OBC, climate control, AC, CD/tape/radio with multichanger (needs code), 8 speaker hifi, child seat in arm rest, dog nets, luggage cover (currently removed as stuck), switchable autobox, electric windows x4 and probably some more bits I've forgot. Tyres are ok but not new.
Does 45mpg on a steady run, 40mpg at 80mph and about 37 round the doors, runs on veg very nicely (never tried more than 40l veg to 30l diesel), is quick enough and feels like it will take you to the ends of the earth.
Bad bits: there are a fair few scratches all over the body, worst being over a rear arch and on the back bumper. I can't take responsibility for most of them but they're there. Small hole in drivers bolster, various marks in the headlining and carpets.
It's a solid, scruffy old bus that does a lot of things rather well. No service history but a pile of bills and MOTs, oil and filter changed about 2000 miles ago for quality stuff. It'll probably end up on eBay but I thought I'd see if there was any interest here first

A centre punch can be used towards the outer edge of the screw head to loosen it. Less likely to mash everything up than a chisel

Out of the 2 suggestions in the OP, I only have experience of ph1 V70s, and the one I had earned my respect massively, through being treated with no respect at all. It was a 140bhp TDI and felt plenty quick enough, maybe the same-powered petrols are a bit shit.
It did a lot of this
There's 2x 1 ton bags of soil in the back there, which didn't particularly phase it. I treat it like shit but it shrugged it off. A quick vac and it was perfect inside again. Factory speakers with an aftermarket head unit was the best quality car stereo I've ever heard. Non-T5s are worth fuck all and they really don't deserve to be.
