Always choose the best vehicle for the job.

Left the 4wd quad in the barn and slid about on the rear steer one this morning.

Lightly snowing in central Scotland but the temperature has risen and it's all melted. There is another weather warning for snow overnight this evening, just in time for everyone going back to work and school!

Not the best photo unfortunately, but this was last night in Coleford, Gloucestershire.

It snowed pretty much all night and was pretty deep this morning. It’s been a bit warmer today and started raining so it’s all melting and turning to slush now.

Mind it refreezing.

The OMG-ery continues. I'm not sure how current or reliable this kind of news is beyond the OMG element.

We are such a nation of idiots! I bet people in many other more intelligent countries are laughing their arses off at us. A light scattering of snow the Brits have filled their nappies. Again!😄 @Dyslexic Viking what’s your take on us lot?

Quite funny and a bit disturbing/terrifying that so little snow can cause so much trouble.

It may not be the people who are panicking - more the media's OMG approach.

I just want accurate news on snow, geographic location, roads closed, temperature etc. Instead they peddle hysteria. And this event seems pretty mild - looks fairly wet snow in big flakes.  Not much wind and drifting.

Much colder again later in the week and more snow.

BUT BECAUSE IT IS FORECAST PEOPLE WILL HAVE TIME TO PREPARE - or is that too much to ask? 🤣

Some fairly irrelevant stuff in their rolling news.

**** the lot of them I say.

What's happened to us as a people Bridget? 🤣

Warm and rainy here in London so flood warnings 🤣

The thing is there is no incentive to invest for prepping for snow when it amounts to 5 days of mild inconvenience a year. There is also seemingly no desire for winter tyres in this country, most people don't even bother with all seasons.

The culture for litigation in the case of accidents also means any public place is going to close at the first sign of somebody potentially slipping on ice.

It's 12 degrees here at the moment so I doubt I'll be adding anything constructive to this thread any time soon.

It's more the individual having accurate reliable information and taking responsibility for their actions IMHO.

But certainly risk culture plays a part.

"All our yesterdays" -

"Whatever happened to you, whatever happened to me - whatever happened to the people we used to be?"

Dad has his firewood production behind the barn so we have a lot of area to clear of snow so need the equipment.

We also has a snowblower and loader tractor.

Everything these days is such a bloody drama. I agree the media just fuel this total panic mindset. It's nothing but yellow, amber & red weather alerts these days..

Whatever happened to just bloody getting on with it !?

More OMG-ery.

Very warm in London tonight - maybe it is bad in parts but if that's the best snowmageddon pic they can find not exactly farmers digging sheep out of ten foot snow drifts.

"Arctic Blast" of course its always someone else's weather causing all the trouble.

Just wait till the jet stream switches off...lol

There won't be "more chaos on the way" if people behave sensibly....oh wait...

Also bad weather seems to = cars in trouble these days...

I think a lot of this would be avoided with weather appropriate tyres.

The modern* trend for wide low profile tyres hasn't helped.
