Kind of see what they were trying to do there. and feel it's definitely not the worst.

There's a Ford Consul estate that pops up at shows on modern alloys like the MG at the top and it just looks wrong.

MGB GT's on modern alloys - no.

RS1800's on low/ultra low profiles - no.

MG's on Minilites, that's OK, I've got used to it over the years.

Morris Minors and Marinas on Minilites/alloys - no.

This Murena was particularly iffy. 

Not that I’m above it myself, Roadster wheels are cheap and plentiful. I bought these just for the tyres that were on them.

They are Rover alloys but for the Mk2 2.0 Vitesse Turbo. They look horrible. I've always had a particular deep hatred of these alloys. I don't even like them on the Mk2.

These wheels are akin to an old man in a nice tuxedo but wearing it with old trainers.

One thing I will contribute: I absolutely hate seeing old cars wearing a tyre profile below about 70%.  It's RONG.

(WiFeY's new whites are 75% on 14" rims, as God intended.)

Thinking about it I had a Rover 114i SLi fitted with those horrid triple spoke alloys.
