Sherpa Freight Rover LDV alert

I remember when they were the cheap trade wagon of choice in the late 90s/early 2000s 😅

The lettings agent my dad ran in the 90s used a trades bloke called Len. Odd job man for all the properties, he was a great laugh! Always drove a fucked LDV, when it exploded he got another one.

He took me and my stepbrother to Peterborough cinema once to drop us off and we rode on his van. Was only 12 or 13 but the shonk was clear to me! It had a big roller shutter back door I remember, inside was just a MASSIVE mess of everything.

Wad a stark comparison to my step-grandads work van (Suzuki carry) he used to be a gas engineer. Meticulous and organised, custom racking etc 😅 I did the odd bit of work with him in the holidays and if he said the thing he needed was in the 3rd Bay, 4th shelf, 2nd compartment it WAS there 👌

Don't think we've had these pics.

That second picture looks a lot like Electric House in Croydonshire. Now LSBU, innit!

I didn't realise/remember the early Sherpas had sliding door glass.

Crikey, I'd forgotten all about those Nissans pretending to be LDVs. Never very common so there can't be many left now - HML says 48 taxed, down from a peak of 5000-odd.

I thought LDVs were cheap?  We weren't paying much more than that for Citroen Relays in 2018!
