TBH I think it's utterly wrong that EVs get dedicated parking that is generally in a very convenient location.  If you can only park in one place, it should be completely the other side of the car park.  after all, you're not parking, you're charging.  The fact that it happens to be in a parking-shaped spot is not relevant.

You've not considered the fact that power has to be run to these spaces, putting them further away would inconvenience more people during the installation, increase the cost of the installation and likely mean the business raising its prices for everyone.

All becuase you can't be bothered to walk an extra 20 yards.

Go haead, post some pictures and prove me wrong.

You've made it sound like a frequent occurence, you must have photographed it.

Unlike some people, I don't feel the need to photograph every single thing I see or do.  Being of an age that I didn't grow up with a camera in my pocket, I don't immediately do so.

But hey, as mentioned, you apparently know everything about everything, so you know exactly what happened, when, whether I took a photo or not etc.

I think I might have to park in a few EV bays and get a photo of it, *just* to piss you off.

Or, maybe, just block you for being an bellend.

Another plus point I found on using EV charging spaces is their bigger than standard spaces making access easier

TBF, that's not really a consideration when you're driving something the size of a Panda! I love squeezing mine into gaps no other car would dare to touch.

That never happened.

I've done it more than once (filling up cans for dinosaurs)

Of course it has. I’ve seen it many times.
Never is a very long time.

Same question to you then.

Why would I have any pictures of this?

I've parked an EV at the pump to nip into the shop where there was no alternative parking, if that helps

Ahh. But did you take a photo? Apparently it didn’t happen unless you did.

Becuase most of the people on this thread seem to take great delight in deliberately parking their combustion cars in the EV charging bays (either through malice or laziness) and have taken photos to gloat over it.

The same people seem to think that EVs are clogging up petrol/diesel pumps all the time yet have never been indignant enough about to take a picture.

I can offer a photo of my chippy tea from Saturday. I feel Tayne needs this putting to bed and if a photo will crack the job I'm happy to oblige 👍

Most people on this thread? Really? That’s almost as funny as your assertion that if there’s no photographic evidence of an event then that event has never happened.

Thanks for confirming it didn't happen.

Leave it. It's not worth it.

In any case, it's something I've seen happen, it's hardly unbelievable really? Certainly not worth crayoning someones thread over either way.

Am now sharing my table though mums very easy on the eye so all is good.

No pervy pics????

Afraid not!

Is funny that you asked though. I wanted to take a pic of the countryside wizzing by without looking like the dick I am.  I cunningly switched phone onto selfie mode. Was dead chuffed with myself till I looked up and made eye contact with said milf who clearly thought I was taking a pic of her as for all the world thats exactly what it looked like I was doing.

You will surely go to hell!

This thread got me wondering and yes of course they do exist.

«If an EV parks at a petrol pump but nobody’s there to photograph it, does it make a sound?», the lesser known George Berkeley proverb.

Was at the 02 with my dad last month and we snuck 2 hours on one of the 7 chargers there before parking back elsewhere again.

Ford ev thing next to us was there before we arrived and whilst we were there a family walked back, filled the boot with shopping, unplugged it and walked back off to the O2 leaving their car now parked in a charging spot not charging...

I may have wandered over to the security hut and told them. (the ev bays are timed, their not included as regular spaces) We then made sure a Volvo ev that had come over to us 30 minutes before got the (now only free) charging space when we pulled away.

We also get ev's parking in the tyre pump bay to charge, or parking across both charging bays for one car but thats also (mildly) down to the shit layout my local BP station has

Had to go to Watford hospital to visit my mum, the place was full of EV's, but oddly, the charging points were totally empty!

There was some ( I think) BMW thingy, taking multiple attempts to actually get into a parking bay, making some horrendous creaking noises, if my 56 year old cortina estate was making those sorts of noises I'd be really concerned!

Does It cost a fortune to charge in hospitals or something?

No, but it does make the lights in the operating theatre go dim.

Compared to kings Lynn hospital, Watford is a palace!

At least it hasn't got 4500 ( yes really) acros holding the roof up.. 😱

It costs a fortune just to park at Watford hospital. My son spent £250 there when his wife was in there for nearly a month.

Yeah, mum wasn't feeling great, so we only stayed for about 20 minutes.

Still cost £3.50 tho
