Zelandeth
It's hardly vintage, but I'll pop along with the Activa see if anyone's interested. Lada is sadly in winter hibernation. Mrs6C

Jifflemon
Have also just discovered that the coffee bean cafe will be open 10 - 1. if you don’t fancy taking your chances with the salmonella vans and despise the costdaearth lot, it comes highly recommended either for a take away brew, or a proper brekkie. Its next door to where the old frontage burnt down; sweet shop is on the right, the coffee bean is on left. Zelandeth
Just arrived - by arrived I mean ended up in a large queue, then spent half an hour driving around trying to find somewhere to park. I get the impression they've had a rather larger turnout than expected, so there's very little by way of parking available in the town centre proper. I wound up down by the Kiln Farm/Wolverton roundabout, and in the time it's taken to write this about another ten cars have parked behind me. It's busy! Tadhg Tiogar
I've managed to park the CX in a service lane near the square. Saw a white DS on the way in. Weather is shite. The average age here is considerable.

Zelandeth
Yep, I spotted the clouds advancing and retreated to the car. Headed towards the centre again figuring I might get in closer for the second act once the weather clears. However it looks like they've abandoned all hope and are just shuffling everyone out. Didn't even get any decent photos from my earlier wander as it was just too packed with people. Did see a Cappuccino though which immediately threw me into majorly regretting selling mine again. Parked in the Vicarage Road car park just now and going to see if anything is left now the rain's stopped, if not will just head home. quicksilver
I think that was the biggest turnout I've ever seen. Shame about the weather and the mass exodus it caused - it took 15 minutes to get from Stony to the A5 roundabout. Top tip: the 10:30 opening time is nonsense and you need to be there by 9:30 to get a decent parking spot. We arrived about 9:15 and the car park was already over half full. Lots of photos to sort now. Mrs6C

Zelandeth
Yeah, I'll turn up earlier next time. I arrived at 10:32 and was told "sorry mate, everywhere's full." and spent the next half hour trying to find a parking spot. Was surprised that the rain saw virtually everyone off though! Tadhg Tiogar
Yes that was me.Unmistakeable! Possibly the only DS to appear. Didn't see any other CXs either. No SMs or GSs. Or Xantias In terms of Autoshite numbers, how many of us got there in the end? I think that was the biggest turnout I've ever seen. Shame about the weather and the mass exodus it caused - it took 15 minutes to get from Stony to the A5 roundabout. Top tip: the 10:30 opening time is nonsense and you need to be there by 9:30 to get a decent parking spot. We arrived about 9:15 and the car park was already over half full. Lots of photos to sort now. I must be the stupid exception. I rocked up at 11.30am and was eventually guided to a parking spot in a service lane behind the square. Quite a few post-war cars ended up in the same lane, including a 2-stroke Auto-Union, a VW Type 3 and a 1976 Alfa Spider, so at least two stewards were using their initiative. Did anyone see that massive orange Chevy pickup? Clearly a popular event, and sensible under the circumstances to wrap up by 2pm. Having said that, some serious thinking might be required to cater for potentially even greater numbers next year. Shame about the heavy rain and hail - it's nice and sunny now! Not a problem if you're kitted out with wellies and an umbrella, though. The rain made it easier for me to take photos..... Yeah, I'll turn up earlier next time. I arrived at 10:32 and was told "sorry mate, everywhere's full." and spent the next half hour trying to find a parking spot. Was surprised that the rain saw virtually everyone off though!A lot of us ended up in The Crown, which was clearly doing a roaring trade in drinks and toilet facilities. Zelandeth
I think it's the fact that I'm used to attending shows in the north end of Scotland - where rain usually means everyone hides in their cars - or if they don't have a roof - in their mate's car - and then gets back on with stuff once the weather clears. The mass exodus was a bit of a surprise. I figured that some folks might disperse though hence my using that moment to head closer to the town centre. I initially wound up by a bus stop, but within a few seconds of stopping and thinking "let's check if any buses are running today..." a bus arrived and I got a barrage of abuse from the driver while I was punching the code in so I could start the engine to get out of his way. There was a GSA there - parked on the bypass. Shame as that's one that I'd really love a closer look at as my only memory of them is from about the age of 5. I remember the dash fascinated me back then.

NorfolkNWeigh
Didn't go this year, because I'm lazy and it's the same cars every year. That beautiful Transit shares a driveway with an equally nice Mk1 , which I presume started life as German Fire Engine and one of those modern Pikey RS , big wheels and stripes Trannys - a real Transit lover. The stretched 101 tipper is a working truck , the owner chopped down some Leylandi for a neighbour last year- still running a V8 too.The Multipla belongs to a lovely bloke called Tommy, an Italian pallet man from Bletchley that wafts around in brand new Lexus LS' when not trundling along in miniature Fiats. Sounds as if I should have gone if the turn out was so big, I might have seen something new. Six-cylinder
RayMK
I did consider going to Stony Stratford today but the heavens opened as I got in my car and instead I headed in the opposite direction towards the sun. The Auto Union 1000 wafted past in a blue haze when I returned, near home. It lives out towards Southam and is usually parked next to a green Wartburg Knight Estate which is in regular use. Clearly a man of taste.
