(for those wondering I did call 999 first to make sure highway agency’s or whoever where aware but it turns out 999 aren’t interested since I’m not in a live lane)

after some of the horror stories I have heard about road side recovery I was a bit aphrensive about things, but thankfully this particular experience was excellent I called the breakdown number which is included with my BikeSure insurance policy,, was quickly through to a human being, lady took my details and correctly relayed all the instructions/import details like the "like a Reliant Robin" bit I said, so the recovery services had some idea what they where handling (as right at the start she asked me "so where is the bike" uhh yeah big bigger then a motorcycle!) and she soon had a recovery man on the way to me, with, DRS Kent Ltd, within the hour and the recovery man was excellent, showed up, scooped me off the hard shoulder, got off the motorway, checked/fettled the straps some more and then just straight home without a fuss  

 

just grumpy I cant make it! the breakdown is whatever, but im upset that I now cant make it to the gathering! I was quite looking forward to that, I hope everyone else is having a good time, and that hopefully I have taken up the FTP quota for the day LOL

Really feel for you, a FTP on your first shiters meet since you got REV back. There was much disappoint when we got the news, hope you're back on the road soon.

I got home swiftly, my only casualty was a n/s indicator bulb that stopped working as I left the farm. Great to meet several shiters for the first time plus the 2 I'd met before. Many thanks to @inconsistant for arrangements.

Thanks for organising @inconsistant. It was great to put some faces to names and the weather couldn't have been better. In fact, I think I might have caught the sun!

Hope to do the same again next year when - fingers crossed - there will be a certain Invacar in attendance!

Great to see some old and new faces and some nice cars, just a shame Dez and the Invacar didn't make it but at least both are home safe and sound

+1 for saying thanks to Inconsistent for organizing. A great day out with friendly like-minded people with an eclectic selection of cars in the sunshine and cups of tea on hand. Living the dream! Such a shame LBF didn't make it. I was looking forward to seeing (and hearing) the Invacar pitch up. I had even splashed out on a 1/76 model of the Hubnut car yesterday to get me in the mood! Glad you got home ok. I had a lovely drive home in the Rapid via the scenic route.

Great to meet everyone today and although I asked and got answers, I really don't remember who had which car!

I think this was the first car meet I've been to where I haven't taken a pic of my own car.

I know my pics are crap as the sun was so bright I couldn't see the screen and anyway the phone is ancient, but sharing them anyway just because I can...

Lastly if I could take home one of the cars at that meet it would have to be the SAAB 900 Turbo and the Volvo 440...

i was gonna do this cos id be getting the ferry in the evening but hospital want me tomorrow and not doing 600 miles round trip for 2 hours sadly

so i have to fly now - plus the fact the tunnel is 130 quid one way - flight is that return and no 5 hour drives

When I saw him by the car I thought he was going to pull the dent in the wing! I can assure you that tyre is better than the one that came off it 🤣
