For those of you who *know* what it is, then don't spoil the surprise*Β

But I've done a silly and bought another car

It breaks most rules in the book...

It's being delivered, the cost of which being close to the purchase price..Β

Sight unseenΒ

More tomorrow!

Rover 200 with homebrew electric conversion?

@twosmoke300 nearly referred me to my nearest mental health service with this purchase....

I won't tell, if it's what I think it is. Well done, rather you than me.

Good man. Great to see it have a chance, rather than be turned into kitchen appliances.Β

Give us a clue?

Hmmm, I'll keep it vague!Β

Not very common in its day, and certainly a rare sight now

Probably tries to be an executive saloon more than a hot hatch

It's allegedly* knocking on the doors of 200bhp

The seller has just kindly updated with a picture of it's departure so the collection delivery is LIVE!Β

Poo count - zero

Breakfast shot - forgot

Hopefully it’s my cursed XM and I just don’t know about it.

Mazda Xedos?Β

Can't wait. When's the big reveal?Β

The mystery vehicle is on its way now! So depending on traffic and whether storm Bert decides to do me a favour and blow it away en-route then I'd expect sometime between 6-8pm

It's quiet here, has he ended up in fetal position, crying over what he's bought?

Yes, he can have that one!

I don't think it would have taken a superintendent detective to work out what I've rescued!Β

It is of course the one and only @fatharrisΒ Rover 620ti!Β

Some 6.5 hours later it's made its journey from Cornwall to sunny* Sussex in one piece

Incidentally the recovery driver had been delivering a competition won Rover 45 with a 1.8 turbo swap down towards Cornwall with this being the perfect piece of the viking longship puzzle for the return journey!Β

Initial impressions I couldn't be any happier, many thanks to @fatharrisΒ for his part co-ordinating the collection arrangements, @twosmoke300Β for reducing his garage street cred and the recovery driver who probably ought to be on here!Β

Perfect timing for me to sit down and peruse the extensive paperwork file and work out a plan to get it back on the road.Β

Must be a weird effect of the light as there's no over spray there, honest!
