citropaul Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I've seen an M registered Peugeot 205 in Conwy, but I've never managed to get a shot of it. I've also seen K and L plated Amazons - considering the very last 120 came off the line in 1970 (and the 140 series started in '68, so the factory was on an Amazon wind down) that's a fair bit of NOS lying around, unless they were re imported CKD kits that came back from South Africa. I think there's one '59 Amazon in the country as well. It has a 3 speed gearbox. The 205 3dr went up to P reg to sell off the 3dr bodys from GTi over production of the shells. Most were TD's or 1.4 models..
Hendry Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Yep that's late for a hatch, I've seen a few 02 estates but they were in production a while longer until the 307 SW came out
e287yba Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 It'll be one of them there Bulgarian Maestro kits nailed together in Ledbury. It's an Apple2000, not a Ledbury . chaseracer 1
Ghosty Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Thread resurrection! No photos, but I saw a 52 plate smiley Transit on the M60 today. Also seen a Y-reg TR7 recently.
Pillock Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I'm sure half the spots in this thread are of cars just about to go bilking fuel.Like the Corsa on OMG POLICE INTERCEPTOR THUGS where the owner had "cleverly" changed the 02 plate to an 82 plate. Why would anyone stockpile a Pug 306? Edit: Having said that, the registrations either side of it are the same model - 306 L (I've never seen just an L before). Maybe a batch order for MoD, Police or something?
fiatdaft Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Raking through some old pics and i found this,i took it in morecombe about 10 ish years ago.
ProgRocker Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1979-VAUXHALL-VX-1800-BEIGE-/251335119331?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a84bd91e3 Mmmm...apricot! Not that late perhaps - Reg'd 1st January 1979. After the Teuton Carlton/Viceroy/Royale/Senator. Banger Kenny 1
Negative Creep Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 No pics, but I did see an 04 Frontera at Tesco. They really made them that late?
sheffcortinacentre Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 again no pic but saw an M reg burgandy sapphire cossy sun.
charlie2555 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Here's a August 1996 registered P reg Cavalier I spotted. Production of this model ended in July 1995...
charlie2555 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 And I couldn't quite believe my eyes with this one. It's an August 2008 registered MG ZR 160... Probably been sitting around for about 3 years... skoda_norman, Mr_Bo11ox, Charlie Croker and 2 others 5
Hertz Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Apologies for the poor picture but I was late dropping a hire car off at Inverness Airport but clocked this. An L reg VW T25! Didn't these finish on a J plate from memory?
New POD Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Here's a August 1996 registered P reg Cavalier I spotted. Production of this model ended in July 1995... IMG_8795 (2).JPG What hideous wheel trims. I'd give him some 14 inch alloys just so he could bin them.
New POD Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 spotted this last weekend in the leafy Chilterns. Piloted by a suitably ancient giffer, note missing hubcap and gaffer taped bumpers Not horrifically late and my lads were nagging "what you taking a picture of that crap for" "exackerly" was my response Doovla says The vehicle details for N842 DRP are:Date of Liability 01 07 2013 Date of First Registration 04 12 1999 Year of Manufacture 1996 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1300cc CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type PETROL Export Marker N Vehicle Status Licence Due to Expire Vehicle Colour BLACK Vehicle Type ApprovalNot Available Took 3 years to sell!! That has to be the ultimate in miserable motoringEx MOD ? again ?
Eric Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Is that Maestro LHD? Wipers are fitted the LHD way....
Lord Sterling Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I think the Maestro was a Ledbury CKD kit originally destined for Bulgaria, hence the LHD set-up. They were converted to RHD for Britain. Is that a model of a Renault 14 in your avatar?
Negative Creep Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 i keep seeing a 54 plate Daewoo Lacetti on the way to work, which must be one of the last? HillmanImp 1
cms206 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Did we have this? Already sold on ebay or I'd have been selling SWMBO to get my hands on the fucker.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1997-VAUXHALL-CAVALIER-GLS-TD-BLUE-/331096139439?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4d16de26af&nma=true&si=pS0KDf7lwePgYlX9HwhWYdQM73Y%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 rml2345 and Jim Bergerac 2
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Wow an R-reg cav!!! That's a good one. I saw an 05 plate mk1 focus today, when did the Mk2 come out?
cms206 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Wow an R-reg cav!!! That's a good one. I saw an 05 plate mk1 focus today, when did the Mk2 come out? The crossover was 54 but a few stragglers managed to make it to 05s. The shape that replaced it came in on 57 but I passed a 58-plate prefacelift ex Police estate minicabbing near here
Hendry Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Someone who stayed in the same town as my folks for years had a P reg Cavalier, not only was it both uber rare and brilliant for the lateness of the reg but it was a 1.7 TD CDX saloon, the reg was P235 RGG It was probably I think so late registered because it was sold new by a small Vauxhall dealer who operated in the same area as a massive out of town retail park based Arnie Clark Vauxhall, (Ferguson of Renfrew, cms206 probably remembers them) some years later I saw another late reg car sold by them in the "trade ins to go to auction" compound of the aforementioned AC dealers, a prefacelift 53 plate mk4 Astra SXI, (the facelift came out on a 52 plate and for anyone thinking the mk4 Astra was never facelifted, what I mean is the SXi/SRi models from 52 plate were different in a few ways from earlier models but this 53 was like the earlier ones)
Stroller133 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 The crossover was 54 but a few stragglers managed to make it to 05s. The shape that replaced it came in on 57 but I passed a 58-plate prefacelift ex Police estate minicabbing near hereI saw a 55 reg mk1 Focus earlier this week.

Ghosty Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Judging from the 'patchwork' effect of that I'd guess it was possibly made out of NOS bits?DVLA says it has tax, and was built in 1972, but registered on 3/12/82. It's a V8, and maroon apparently. IOM/Jersey import?Impressive, anyway.

Where do you reckon it's come from?
Ghosty Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Certainly somewhere in western continental Europe - it could well be that someone in British Forces Germany bought it out there and bought it back in '82?
Joey spud Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 That multi coloured Rover belongs/belonged to a bloke called something like Mike Renaut who was/is a writer for that other classic car mag that isn't Practical Classics.. Shep Shepherd 1
