I found an article that suggests it's in storage at Colonia Spezialfahrzeuge GmbH where it was made

That is an impressive bit of shite custom lorry making, knocking up something out of a lorry chassis, a Granada body and a Merc grill panel. Are Colonia a haulage co. or were they making the really long bits of box section?

I'm sure I've seen pictures of it previously with long pipes on a trailer, extending above the cab. I think the chassis is MAN

Looks like a nice custom Willys pickup and not at all daft, but that T-reg suggests something is afoot...

Huh? Fake plate shenanigans surely, but no! Someone really has put a Willys pickup body on a Scimitar chassis. Why I have no idea.

Because you don't have to go through iva or whatever it's called this week as it's just "a body swap" on a vehicle that already exists.

That looks like the end of a cart spring poking out from behind the offside rear tyre; definitely shenanigans as Scimitars are coils all round.

From memory this type of design was tried by a few companies.  The idea was to maximise cargo capacity while keeping to overall vehicle length within what was deemed to be legal.  So extending a full height load area above the cab was one answer to that.

Funky looking things, and I imagine not having the height advantage you usually do in a lorry must have been quite challenging to drive in busy areas.

Anyone who's driven a bus or coach will tell you how odd sitting a good number of feet in front of the steering axle initially feels too...

But Kittens have leaf springs.... scratches chin.... looks at DVLA finds it has a 2994cc engine. As you were men, it's suspicious.

Trabike? Can't see any brake controls, and if the indicator works it would be confusing.

The rear wheel hub looks a little larger than normal - could be a 'back pedal' brake.

Yes, it could be. Reminded me more of a fixed wheel type my Dad had, lethal bloody thing
