Sounds like the front accumilator sphere is borked to me.But I'm no Citroen specialist,then again neither is that garage by the sound of it.

Probably just low on fluid! Either that or the pump is on its way out. I love BXs though. Mine has hardly leaked very much at all really. Only had to cure two leaks!

That is actually fucking ace. Despite the fact they're horrible things to drive it's nice to see such an old one and it does have a certain masochistic appeal to it.

 

If you did buy it you'd need to be careful getting out of it in the dark as it is a long way down from a recovery truck.
