Do not post so much, because i've got nothing to add, but donated some.

Your threads keep me sane while i'm busy.

Thanks

Ok, I am going to close this off now, as all of the usual suspects have contributed, along with several other people who have now seen the thread.

Many thanks to all concerned, I am fairly sure we now have enough to get well into the new year.

cheers,

I've not run the fundraizr since last year, which is somewhat lax of me.  I need to request funds, but unfortuately am at work at the moment so can't get the financials information for the last few months.  All I can say right now is that our costs have been December thru April, (5 months' worth) and another 6-monthly forum software renewal.  It's probably most of £400, but I'll update later when I have exact figures.  More important is to open the fundraizr!

Ā

As per before, the fundraiser can be found here:

https://ko-fi.com/autoshite

Unfortunately, despite KoFi being superbly easy to use, when it transfers balance to Paypal, it's considered a business transaction, so some fees are lost.Ā  On the back of that, if anyone wishes to make a "friends and family" paypal payment directly into the Autoshite Paypal account, (IE bypassing KoFi's fees) that would be most welcomed.Ā  The email address to make a payment to is

[email protected]

For anyone making a payment by anything other than paypal, or indeed would prefer not to use friends&family to make the payment that is no issue at all and payments through KoFi are very welcome indeed.Ā  Sending direct by Paypal friends&family is absolutely optional.Ā  But is also welcomed to avoid fees.

If neither of the above methods work for anyone, then I can accept a direct bank transfer.Ā  As this is into a personal account, I'm not going to leave details up on the forum, but do PM me and I will pass on the information needed.

I will, as before, leave this open for a while, to allow everyone who uses the forum to see this and contribute if they wish.Ā  I expect this raizer will cover us well into the autumn

The explanation for the weird email address on page 1.

Many thanks to all contributors, large, small or anything in between.

To everyone who has contributed so far, thank you.Ā

I'm always amazed when I look at the site stats and see how this place is so busy. Especially given most car forums are pretty much dead nowadays, let alone obscure ones such as here.Ā

For some numbers, in the last 30 days we've had 37.2 million web requests and 1.57TB of content served - of which nearly 1TB is directly sent out by the server (uncached). Considering how compressed the images are (a common complaint but this is why!), that's a lot of content.

There are a lot of users not only active but even more lurking. Right now I see nearly 1000 users online (~140 logged in). The disparity between logged in and not is normal for most social media type content. Usual active participants is often sub 10% of users. So hello šŸ‘‹ to everyone who is a lurker and is reading this. Feel free to make an account and join in!

So to go back to funding. This is why hosting ends up around €100 pcm. To reduce that would reduce the responsiveness of the site at peak times. I'm sure many would agree that at the moment it's pretty spritely no matter the time of day. But that costs and any money put in directly keeps this place going.Ā
