I see your point, Ian, but personally I find it difficult to generate a 'curator' feeling for a rather dumpy '60s car that, in stock form, I find ever so slightly depressing.

Thing is, they could have done what they wanted to do with a whole multitude of cars that are ten a penny.

Twat with the Triumph could just have easily fucked up a Mondeo or Vectra, infact, i dont think ive seen satin black with red rims done to the aforementioned cars before but ive seen plenty of shit work done to lovely old cars that deserved better.

The Minx is, probably, the biggest crime. That was a stonkingly good car and the fella, again, could have acheived his aims with a car more plentiful.

Ive been looking at Super Minxes as a potential future purchase and its fair to say there arent too many for sale at the £500 mark. A half decent one will set you back four figures no problem.

My haze blue SRi, subject to much wantage by at least one other shiter, has been stored at my current workplace for a few months now. Boss has been okay with it as long as I don't add any more to the pile.

 

Went to work yesterday as I was getting a scrap Mondeo uplifted. Had occasion to stick some odds and sods into the SRi as short term storage.

 

 

One of my colleagues clearly loves me. I've only fallen out with one and he's the only one so far to come up to me and start sounding off that I had better not blame him for it. The doors were about the only panels not yet showing signs of imminently dissolving and now I've got them to add to the ever growing list. I'm in the middle of getting quotes to get it welded up and MOT'd and now I'm half tempted to just phone the blokes who lifted the Mondeo to take it away as well.

 

 

Had to leave the Senator at work overnight as well, clearly it thinks the Cavalier is in danger too as it was flat as a witch's tit this morning.

Sorry to hear about that - personally I'm a turn the other cheek but I can obviously see how you feel. If that's a footprint on your door perhaps try and match it to his workboots, following the suggestion above? Maybe if you're close enough to your other colleagues there could be enough collective shit on him to get him out of work.

The front door looks like it might pop out with a dent puller,not so sure about the back,but with carefull gentle pulling,or a hand press from inside,might press out again and not notice. If you have a idea who the A-hole is who done it,and you do end up having a car taken for scrap,wouldn't it be a awful shame if you were moving your motor near his,and you misjudged how close you were to his,or your foot was to slip off the clutch

In other news...

 

Managed to piss myself off today looking through all the images of the old Longbridge works. The flight shed has now been demolished, so I tried to find some images online to see how the works used to look as I was too stupid/lazy/young to actually come down myself and have a look, maybe even apply for a job.

 

I came across some video on youtube regarding the old place, a 'then and now' type video of images of the works before demolition and now, once one of the biggest works in Europe now replaced by a shit college and wank little houses.

 

One of them comments in the video did make me smile though:

 

this is so sad, i can't believe how people put engand strips, and union jacks on stuff and then fall over themselves to buy pretty much anything that originates from country that was trying to bomb longbridge 70 years back, what bullshit.
