Best wishes Mally, any time is a real bad time but this time of year.Thoughts with you..

I was going to come in with a right proper rant, but no, it all pales in comparison with Mally's news.Thoughts are with you and your family in this time.

Indeed.

I had just enquired after MrsMally on the Cat post and was directed over here. I am so, so sorry to hear that news. I hope she is out of pain now and that you can both take comfort and strength from each other in whatever time may remain. Thinking of you both.

Oh bloody hell Mally, sorry to hear that.

Very similar to what happened with my mother. She was complaining of headaches for a couple of weeks before she collapsed. Turns out it was lung cancer that had spread to her brain. She never really regained full consciousness.

Really nothing to be said that can make things any easier...just remember there are folks around to talk to, don't lock yourself away from everyone.

My wife has been given days to live.

Diagnosed with Lung cancer in August, told there was 93% chance of success.

Operation was a success. They were right.

What they didn't mention and I've only just heard, was that at time of a Lung cancer diagnosis, there is a 40% chance its migrated somewhere else.

Stable door springs to mind.

Shit mate, what terrible news. Best wishes.

Ah, no. That's rotten news.

I can only add my voice to the many others here wishing strength and virtual support to Mally.

As a bunch of misfits who maintain a steadfast optimism that anything can be mended with enough ingenuity and welding rods, it's unbelievably harsh to face something so unfixable. My thoughts are with you all at this terrible time.

coroner has requested post mortem be carried out

was rather like being in one of those "fly on the wall" tv programmes watching the paramedics working in front of me!

Sorry to hear that, Mally.

Makes my grump of the drive belt on my mowing machine shredding itself, leaving an area about the size of two cricket wickets un-mown pale. That and thinking I'd pushed the truck door shut, turning my head round and lamping myself on the temple with the sharp edge of the door and knocking my glasses off onto the asphalt. That and just having to buy a new tumble dryer for the mother in law because hers literally fell to pieces in an irreparable fashion.

Yup, overall, today seems to have sucked for everybody.

thoughts go out to Mally & mrs M

we're just dealing with mrs mom doing a "sudden death" on Sunday nite/Monday morn :-(

Just picking up on this one as well.

Hope all's as well as it can be Chez Tidybeard - seems that a lot of shiters are having a very rough time of it this week. Condolences to you and yours.

Give those you love an extra-special tight hug this weekend, folks, and let's continue to be excellent to each other.

I'm sorry for your loss. Hopefully the report will be able to give a reason.

I need to read posts more thoroughly.

When o2’s network went down yesterday, things got so desperate that I was forced to actually talk to my family.

Spent the day at work just trying to get through, streaming with cold.

Got home to the Mrs' lastest trials in vegan cooking - a pasta bake with fake cheese on.

Nobody eats it willingly but her, and she admits it's not pleasant. I try not to point out that feeding 2kg of it to the hens will not have improved our environmental impact.

Eldest also full of cold and has spent the day screaming. This resumes 10 minutes after going to bed. Mrs has had this all day and has lost patience, so I'm on the sofa with a snotty nosed two year old who finally went to sleep after some toast and Calpol twenty minutes ago.

I could have gone to sleep at 7pm, but I'm still up, still streaming, and will have both the kids from silly o clock because the labour party is an essential escape. Apparently.

I know this is trifling compared to the various events above and on previous pages, and I'm grateful for what I have, but I'd just like some sleep please.

Why, burnt to death in a fire ?

I can hear my fences failing in the wind outside.

Still not been to sleep, though have been resting on the floor in the living room. The eldest has been sleeping too.

What pasta bake had been eaten is now attached to bedding in the bedroom, so I suppose I could have come out worse.
