DIY?

Decent job for a spring evening imo

I've taken off the sliders and cleaned them up but it's not sorted it. I suspect it maybe the calipers themselves. But really CBA in replacing them and bleeding a modern brake system. I hate bleeding brakes as it is, let alone risking getting air into an ABS pump.

Luckily looks like the calipers are cheap enough if it turns out they're shot. £90 each before discount on ECP. Apart from the fancy shocks, parts are pretty cheap thanks to VAG commonality. The discs and pads, despite being the size of dinner plates, are a similar price to the Civics.

The whole abs bleeding thing is a myth !

I’ve done jobs where I’ve split abs modulators in half to replace sensors and never had to do anything different to bleeding any other car .

Just put a bit of wood on the pedal to hold it down an inch or so before you start . This stops the fluid draining as you work . Think pipette .

Or use a brake pipe clamp.

Several people owe me money.

I have been very patient and now it's grating - and hurting me financially.

I don't want excuses, I want the money. You have had long enough. I want the money I am owed.

It's time to pay them a visit and ask for it, one i did to a scumbag who owed money to my dad and dad asked me to pop around because the guy was taking the utter piss 6 months of broken promises and bullshit had passed, when i visited he tried to take the pee with me so he got shown how easy it was for me to get in his locked car which had a week old £300 stereo head unit in, I sat in the drivers seat told him nice stereo and asked him if he would like me to show him how easy it would be for me to start the engine, he realised I wasn't playing and paid up its amazing how people find the money they owe

Pointless Twitter argument with an Israeli who thinks it's OK to use snipers on kids with rocks.  He's entitled to his opinion but...

Stop the world, I want to get off for a while.

Bet if it was turned around to their kids then you'd be an evil nazi....

The whole 'I'm a Jew, nazis hated us so we can do no wrong' attitude gets on my tits at times. So what if your religion has a history, it's still just about invisible friends & doesn't make you better or worse than anyone else.

Every religion has been persecuted at some point in history.  The Holocaust was an abhorrent event and no doubt plays large on those that were victims of it and their descendants, be them Jews, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, Freemasons, physically disabled, mentally handicapped or whatever.  Many people of many backgrounds died in those events, although Jews were the primary initial target.  I have no problem with Jewish peoples, Arabian peoples or anybody else you care to mention.  I do, however, have a problem with extreme nationalists and today, a bunch of extremist arseholes massacred protesters - most of whom were unarmed and of those that were armed, were armed not with advanced military hardware but with sticks and stones.

This makes my blood boil.  No doubt.

Woah, fuck off with your religion and politics please!

My grandad fought and died in the second world for our right to oppress, victimize and persicute.

Thankfully, his side lost so now we have pound shops, car forums and the right to party.

Honestly last night I could have pulled the thing out myself. Really hoping they aren't going to fill the root and just replace what she did before.

Been there. Threaten to get drunk n yank it yourself, that convinces them!

Am now proud possesor of a gap, and about a year on, wish they had taken it out sooner.

I know it'll make it stop forever but I really don't want it pulling out!

GSF mark everything up. You need to use a discount code to bring their prices down to anywhere resembling reasonable. I used wkd56 at the weekend and got a good chunk off the stuff for the oil change I couldn't do.

It's the sheer scale of it though. It's £300 but you can have 56% off. Whoopie doo! Or go ECP and get one for less before discount. (https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_1.4_1996/p/car-parts/electrical/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/alternator/?401440491&1&e7c1329f723ad28bcc2e4bbb1f3c6bda8f093971&000012).

It's no wonder people have doubts over GSF competing with ECP.

Been to the dentist. Not the same as before (root dieing) it's exposed root that's mega sensitive to cold. She put some stuff on to cover it over and gave me special toothpaste.

Still hurts but at least I wasn't being injected and all the filling messed with.

Yeah. I used them because they have an outlet in Portsmouth that was open at the weekend and I didn't want to wait for the internet. Also the guy behind the phone there was very helpful when I needed to clarify some things.

My company is owed £2,500. Its been owed over 3 months now. We have received a payment of £200 around the 2nd of May, we resubmitted an invoice with new notice of payment terms, 14 days t to clear at least a 1 thousand pound payment or we send the bailiffs in. 14 days will be the 18th of this month. Nothing so far. I think, they think we are small time and we couldnt possibly send the debt collectors in.

We have started to add late charges if not paid by the 18th, £25 pound a day sounds fair!

Bearing in mind they are a brand new company, they have promised us payment on so many occasions - we even agreed to £300 a month which never arrived. The last thing they need is a CCJ, but it;s going to happen if they don't pay soon!

Oh and, they have the money... and then some!

First pin in the map of this season. Bit early for my liking.

Also, twisted my back climbing a stepladder in the garage yesterday and now I'm taking in all the delights of sciatica.

£25 a day doesn’t sound very legal.....

If you put it in the contract you can charge what you like; if they're dumb enough to sign on to those conditions they're liable.

Yeah but the tone of the post implied he had plucked a figure out of thin air and decided to start charging

They know. My immediate manager is trying to give me things with more responsibility but her hands are tied by job descriptions and senior management. It could be worse. A lot worse. Just feels like a great fucking waste of time.

What do you do?

The price of R134 refigerant gas has gone from only around 80 quid a bottle to over 350 so the days of a  30 quid regas are long gone.

Production/machine Operator at a bottling hall. I'll not be completely without a job, just dropping back into a 0-hour contract with the temp agency.

Still reckon I'll be around £175-£200 a month worse off, assuming I still get full weeks of shifts which will be unlikely...
