I for one am glad that MrDuke is back, OMG DON'T INVADE ARE SAFE SPACE WITH YOUR VALID CRITICISM OF THE FORUM.

Just calling a place awful is valid criticism?

Posted

Probably not but I like MrDuke. Please stay, tell us about your current motoring situation, etc.

Fucking timewasting bullshitting penis head

Saw an A30 being broken for bits on FB, enquired about a front wing... turns out it's 5 mins from my dad's, so he agrees to collect for me and pay as an Xmas pressie. Super!

The kid selling says it's at his work, anytime 9-5 is cool except Sundays. My dad works, so couldn't get there this week, but arranged with the seller to collect Monday.

Get a message this morning. "Sorry mate a car came in and i needed space so got rid of that wing"

Ring him up, got the same story... "so you've thrown away a wing you were gonna get 75 quid cash for?" "Yep". I called him a prick. More like he sold the pair or realised he needed them.

Glad I hadn't wired him the wonga as planned or stripped the flipping car.

M1 was closed between 26 and 25 yesterday, first both sides then just southbound. Someone has topped his missus in Derby and then chucked himself in front of a lorry. Sounds a pretty flipping awful Christmas for the families involved.

Went on the Evening Post website to find this out, as we were caught in some of the chaos yesterday - http://www.nottinghampost.com/day-of-chaos-on-the-m1-how-it-all-unfolded/story-29989593-detail/story.html - and in the comments there's someone who finds it UNACCEPTABLE (their capitals) that the M1 was closed for so long, and they had children in the car for over two hours stuck in traffic.

Boo fucking hoo. Some trucker is having the worst Christmas of their lives, two lives lost, and diddums there got stuck in a traffic jam.

Posted

Yeah, we passed northbound and fair enough there wasn't a massive load of activity on the closed section but it looked like they were just about done - a few official looking cars were heading towards 25 on the closed section.

For what it's worth, the journey that daft bint was doing is connected by the rather good tram system anyway, so moaning about traffic whilst in a car doing a journey that doesn't need to be done in a car is a double fail.

Apparently he did his kids as well. Something else happened in Derby and Langley mill Eastwood area

all i can say is that i'm flippin' glad i wasn't trying to get back north from nottingham yesterday.....

Took me 2 hours to get from Heanor to Beeston. Hour an half spent in Cossall Lane getting from Awsworth to Trowell

This week I've had a wonderful reminder that HR isn't your friend. Luckily I'm in the union, and I'm now on holiday so get to ignore it for a few weeks. January will be so very fun.

On the plus side I'll soon have a lot more time to be scrabbling around under cars.

Christmas really can tip people over the edge sadly. How bad must your life be to end your loved ones and then yours.

Regardless of how bad your life is kids don't deserve that. Nor his wife most probably.

REALLY AWFUL.

Then you'll fit right back in, unless by that you mean you've somehow acquired a leased A4TDi in Storm Grey.  In which case, while your assessment still fits as if tailored, the actual conveyance is as wide of the mark as most of the shots fired at the A-Team.

As for the M1 event, what a bummer all round.  Selfish Bint in her Q7 with the nippers needs a sense of perspective, stat.

There's someone rounf the corner with an Audi A4 in storm grey. It is seriously horrible... even for an Audi!  66 reg as well so they had a choice, why that awful colour? Is it the only 'free' one?

I'm guessing the choice was silver, grey, black, white, and a slightly different shade silver, so no real winners there

Macclesfield

Day was Ok yesterday up until my last job in Macclesfield, I didn't want the job but a few extra quid always helps. Walked into Mercedes dealershit only to have Mr Attitude salesman tell me the car wasn't at the premises, apparently there had been some mix up when they tried to purchase the vehicle. Sounds to me like some fucking admin person more concerned with what they are going to be doing/drinking/buying over Christmas couldn't be arsed to check where the actual vehicle was.

This cost me a load of time wasted, still got paid though. Work booked me a hire car, went to hire car place (despite there being no taxis available because: Macclesfield at 5pm, car hire place sent a driver to me pick me up) picked up car, went home.

This morning I couldn't find my wallett, the last time I saw it was at the car hire place and I'm sure I put it back in my pocket. I searched high and low to no avail and by the time I phoned the car hire place it was shut, helpfully my bank branches were also shut at midday. No money then, and I can't send any to Lady_Sterling until Monday.

Sadly but thankfully at the same time I'd cancelled the work on the anti-roll bar bushes on the BMW because I can't afford it now. Even if I could wallett has decided to take up residency elsewhere. Card has been cancelled too.
