The grumpy thread

I have LOADS going on right now, but my stalker means I can't talk about it.

Soon though, hopefully!

Jumped in the car to drive home, put the lights on and Bing Bong, warning lights flashing and a message on the dash telling me a bulb was out on the back.

Went to have a look and bugger me,it was right! A bulb was not working as it should.

Vision's of Ecu's in meltdown, wiring going up in smoke and general electrical catastrophe of biblical proportions immediately ran through my mind.

Can't afford to replace it,plugging into a code reader that works needs a small mortgage or a visit to the dealer

In frustration I lashed out, tapping the rear light panel with the back of my knuckles

And the light came back on......

P38's,who'd have 'em eh ?

My best friend is moving away. I feel so emotional. Why cant I find someone who wants to stay. Sigh.

Anyway been welding the Samba up. Should update the thread really.

I've been a bit off this place too which I suppose is why I haven't contributed much of late.

Trouble is whenever I have a look, the first page is full of raffles, moans, stuff of no real interest and for sale threads which puts me right off posting anything interesting* like taking driving a Renault 4 a round trip of 1500 miles to a car show in France.

But yeh, I suppose you only get out what you put in etc...

Posted

I think the raffles are a terrific innovation; for a few quid you get the chance to own something you may only vaguely desire (and would't want to pay any proper money for), while the seller gets a sure-fire sale without having to tolerate the usual demographic a £300 car attracts.  And it's entertaining.

I've got manflu and feel like the world can go fuck itself, I don't like feeling like this

That Accord Coupe. One of the few cars that I've wanted, badly, ever since they went sub-£2k. And thanks to Domestic Management, I had to sit on my hands and watch someone else buy it. Twuntfuttocks.

Took ill tonight. Can't work out why. Just started shivering and shaking, Cant get words out and stammering. Throbbing pain down neck to spine and appalling headache. Struggling to stand too. Just came out the blue.

I need to post some more stuff up really, I've been doing lots of work to my Minor and Allegro and just CBA to report on any of it. I really should make more of an effort instead of leeching on the very marrow of the forum and not making my own threads of tat for people to marvel at. The Minor has been off the road since 1990 and is fire damaged too!

Feck me mate, call a doc quick like

Its happened before fred. No explanation. Never can understand it and neither can the quack. I just took myself off to bed. Feel a bit better but I'll not be right for a couple of days as is usual when it happens. It happened since I took really ill in 2013.

And they say it's not a proper Range Rover...

I still don't have a green Karmann Ghia on my driveway that I didn't want but now do want even though I have nowhere to put the sodding thing and the missus doesn't like it.

Also I have been offered a free Vectra and it isn't here yet either, no fucker has raffled a Volvo for me to win recently and Dave's blown us all out the water by buying a bloody bus again. The bastard.

We need R4 Roadtrip thread, Mister Lobstar!

Problem with so many raffles is they naturally attract at least 49 replies each plus conversation so they're rarely off the front page, they bump more than the quality threads.

Posted

/\ go and stand in the corner that man, raffles are not quality threads what are you like.

All that tension and fear you simply don't get that any other way.

I was really annoyed with myself for missing that dent in the rear door of the 'new' car. So, I checked all the pictures I took if the fucker last Wednesday and the pictures on the ad and guess what, no dent! It has happened sometime in the last week so I'm not a total mong!

I have had 'gentle' words with the dealer but they are not playing ball and sticking to the 'it was there when you inspected it' line. No amount of pictures is going to make the slightest difference to them so I have to choose as to whether to fall out with them or move on...

They are the only Bentley specialists in the area.

Life's to short to fight battles you cannot win.

Legal advice is expensive, time consuming and frustrating with little chance of success.

So, while irked, move on, get it fixed and forget it.

In other grumps: the fucking Bentley has already caused chaos in the road as parking last night was horrendous and the scary woman two doors up (hot as all hell but scares the living daylights out of me!) is giving me filthy looks!

Oh hum...

Any photos of the dent?  Shame it isn't on the NS rear door as you'd see it less often, out of sight out of mind etc.

Do a bit of research and find a friendly classics garage, there must be others down your way who can work on the Bentley but aren't just RR/Bentley specific.

Yes, I've got a few but they are on my phone and the useless sodding thing won't talk to my computer anymore! They have obviously had a disagreement ever since I installed Samsungs very own super - dooper program to allow photo and file sharing.

Big mistake... MASSIVE!

In other grumps: Phoebe has just gone mad when the postie arrived and knocked a full (as in freshly made!) cup of coffee over. Carpet, rug and Chesters pillow all covered.

I feel your pain.

This was my mug. Over five years use, and not even a chip in the rim until the other day when this happened...

I found it in the sink like that, and everyone else in the house denies responsibility so I don't even know how!

OK, it is a little bit funny, but still sad for my mug.

WTF

chip rim yes but chipped to get a hole in the side

special kind of droppage deserves a medal :D

Do you have a link to the advert Xtriple? That would have photo's from all angles??

Beloved's mother had a stroke this morning.

Sorry to hear that, my dad had one the other week, completely debilitating.

We've seen it all before. 'Autoshite has gone crap/don't know why I bother/not what it was/toys on the floor'

A few days later: Ooh, five people have replied to my thread, Autoshite is much better these days.

We probably all think we make great posts or threads, but we all have to face tha facts that some of it might be ignored. It's the Internet, not a popularity contest.

I was hoping it was! I don't have real friends so you lot mean the world to me :)  I do agree with your sentiments though.

Everything waxes and wanes, that is life. AS cannot be 100% super thrilling all of the time.

Raffles are ace, yes, ok so one of my cars went in one, pfft :)

As said above, you get the chance to own a car for fuck all and with rather better odds than the Lotto :) :)

This is just my observation ok,

I have met several folk from this very forum and have yet to come across a better bunch of folk. Folk have encouraged me on here, advised, dissuaded, supported and taken the piss when needed and I thank you all**.

This has to be one of the most ace places to actually buy/sell/win a roffle. Yeah, so the threads get a bit dire at times, but what the heck. They soon pick up again.

** Repeated use of folk. Sigh.

Has the dent broken the paint? If not a good pdr chap should pop it out at minimum cost.

If they are going to be wanky over a dent, what else would they try and shaft you for. Hmm.
